All 918 customers (VIP's) were offered GT4 first before anyone else on the LOI list, and if they have spent that type of cash on the 918 they should get some preferential treatment in my view.
I was not , where did you here this? I have a 918 coming and enquired to my OPC ref obtaining GT4 , answer no chance!

OPC have advised that I have a confirmed September build slot - plus 8 week delay for buckets/CS - so realistically it'll be late November/early December, just in time for the winter...and I have to choose a different colour from my original choice, still mustn't grumble, at least I am getting a car. quite fancy Guards red, maybe dark blue metallic.

is anybody brave enough to go for the yellow?

I think the colour situation is quite bizarre, not as if they are new colours. Be interesting to see if they bring them online again. Guards Red maybe worth a look though, I'm stuck what colour to have tbh!

Apparently GT3 RS production is delayed as well! not because of the buckets too

have had the price now to have mine wrapped and I'm happy with it so will have it done in Mexico blue. I will order the car yellow with yellow accents so that they will also go with the wrap

Yep, saw it at Geneva and it looked sensational, especially with yellow stitching. Way better than the Rhodium Cayman S and Carmine Boxster GTS but then the GT4 would look better than them in those colours too, so it was hard to decide how much was the car and how much the colour. Certainly yellow suits the GT4 (unlike a Cayman S I have seen in it) and sets it apart from the grey masses.

If I get one I was going for Carmine, probably black now that is has been pulled.

Can you explain the wrap option please, I am not familiar. I really want blue or similar and trying to get a paint to sample or find another way to achieve it.

Mad Ferret's quote is wrong. NO OPC had to offer a 918 customer a car, who gets the cars is at the OPC's discretion.
Correct. An OPC might get group pressure but not PGB pressure.

918 buyers were offered first dibs on GT4 allocations in the US. I don't believe that happened in Europe.

Why would a 918 owner have any interest in a Boxster with a roof and a detuned 911 engine?

Excellent question...but unfortunately a few of them have!

Maybe because it is a really good car?

Stupid question deserves a stupid answer.

It's smaller, more usable with less people gawking at the car and chasing you around with mobile phone cameras, supposed to be good fun... plus it's in small numbers at least in the UK and likely to turn in a profit. your question perhaps should be - why wouldn't a 918 owner have interest in the gt4...?

Hi Folks,

Just an update I think some of you will find interesting but tbh of no great surprise. I placed a deposit for a CGTS in Feb this year with an expected delivery of Jan 2016. I started to have doubts even though the CGTS is a great car. I remembered when I sold my last two 911's (a 993 & more recently a 996 turbo) I started to regret it & missed them. The 911 is so iconic. Would I have the same feeling over the CGTS. So I have a 997 Gen 2 C2S PDK lined up (agreed price etc & going again this weekend for a test drive). But thought maybe I could swop my deposit onto a GT4. Just had a reply back from the OPC saying they will be getting three GT4's this year, 4 next year & 20 on the list who have placed deposits. So no chance. I have asked whether they will be taking deposits as far ahead for 2017. Has anyone else asked the same question?
