Cheers - me too!
I'd always go for the very best lights available on a car - you'll never regret having better headlights . The PDLS system is very good - just my opinionEricE said:
Unexpectedly got to testdrive the GT4 with the aforementioned spec sheet today. 13°C, wet roads, MPSC2s and not allowed to turn off PSM, not that I wanted to.
Not sure what I can say that the journo's haven't already said.
The car feels compact and wieldy on the road. Engine sounds much nicer than I thought it would. Definitely a bit artificial with the pops and bangs but I loved it regardless, very dramatic as it should be in a car like this. The pull in mid range is very impressive, more than enough to get you into trouble with the cup tyres on wet roads and low temperatures.
Ride is firm, almost harsh in normal mode, the closest thing I can compare it to is my old R56 Cooper S with factory sport suspension option but obviously with much higher quality damping, so not "crashy". Steering does have whiffs of VAG to it but I believe it's one of those things you get used to very quickly and then just completely forget about it.
Rear visibility is surprisingly bad because of the roll bar and wing. I'd really want a rear view camera since the car already had PCM.
I can't really comment on the driving dynamics due to the conditions but it did give me a lot of confidence right away. Having all relevant data (oil temperature, pressure, tyre pressure, etc) in the small instrument cluster LCD is very convenient. Overall a brilliant car.
Over here (living and working in Austria at the moment) a GT4 is more than twice the price of a mint, sub 5k-mile 987 CR due to emission laws and I didn't feel like it is twice the car on the road. If you live in a country with less draconic emission laws and spend a lot of time doing serious track days then the GT4 is a no-brainer.
IMO People looking for a car with "analog feel" may be disappointed but the overall execution of the GT4 is so perfect that even they will be happy.
The 'harsh ' ride is a concern ,I am guessing Austrian roads are superior to uk roads (as I've been to 3rd world countries with better roads than the uk),whilst not expecting a luxurious ride in this type of car, there isn't a valid reason nowadays for a poor ride. For me Car won't be kept long if it has a st ride. Not sure what I can say that the journo's haven't already said.

3rd 108mph
4th 135mph
5th ?
That will be a great gearbox to work through, looks like lots of fun.
Not sure why you would need a numbered gear indicator with a manual box though

Porsche have obviously taken into account the age of the average GT4 driver - slight paunch, Farah slacks, early onset of dementia. No forgetting what gear you're in, see?
Just read an article in a magazine that states the GT4 has the same gear ratios as the Cayman GTS Manual and it can be frustrating on the road as second and third are too high!
Wonder what Mr Demon will make of that!
