Anyone got any more info on the availability of, and advise which bucket seats are correct?
I have just confirmed my spec and put my order in for an August slot and been told it cant be accepted until they have timescales/ a decision on the buckets. it seems like there may be some decision around supplier/s going on.
There also seems to be a couple of variants about - see below. Anyone know which is the version we will be getting?
I originally had an end of June build, now end of August build due to 918 bucket seat delay. But all confirmed and delivery start of September.I have just confirmed my spec and put my order in for an August slot and been told it cant be accepted until they have timescales/ a decision on the buckets. it seems like there may be some decision around supplier/s going on.

Bottom one you posted is the new style seat aka "Sport Bucket Seat". It's wider, somewhat easier to get in and out of, height adjustable via electric motors, has supply issues. It's marketed as the "best of both worlds" of the sports seats and full bucket seats, thus the name. It's not identical to the 918 seat but quite similar. The real 918 seats have two holes in the back rest.

Top one is the old foldable GT2 seat aka "Full Bucket Seat". No height adjustment, lighter, tighter in the bottom area, better lateral support but harder to get in and out of. Should be available without delays.
I ordered my GT4 with the old GT2 buckets after sitting in both back-to-back (no pun intended) at the dealership.

I definitely prefer the ones far right in this picture. Now, who can tell me exactly which ones these are pls?I have just confirmed my spec and put my order in for an August slot and been told it cant be accepted until they have timescales/ a decision on the buckets. it seems like there may be some decision around supplier/s going on.

I did not think this was an option on the GT4 ? ie to fit the older GT2 folding buckets.
It doesn't/didn't show up as an option in the consumer configurator but could be picked in the OPC configurators (upon request). My adviser had some trouble combining those seats with the clubsport package but it worked out in the end. Cost is the same (unfortunately).Interesting owners review on rennspeed re the car in general and the buckets, owner complaining of serious backache after a few days driving .
I tried some regular buckets in 991 but it's a much easier car to get into and out of than the cayman ,seriously thinking of going adaptive seats as I have back issues anyway, and struggle to get in and out if the wife's boxster as it is.
I will decide shortly.

the GT2 folding buckets help by lower back pain, the recaro ST seats in my Ford don't at all (nasty things) , nor do Porsche sports seats, they seem rock hard and kill me, plus give me numb bum.I tried some regular buckets in 991 but it's a much easier car to get into and out of than the cayman ,seriously thinking of going adaptive seats as I have back issues anyway, and struggle to get in and out if the wife's boxster as it is.

Folding GT2 buckets are so soft to sit on and just support me perfect, can easy come back from the ring with no issue and did a 4 day Spa trip via the ring and back no issue last year.

It's the other way I thought. the folding gt2 seat (option P03) is the sportsbucket seat with no height adjust while the 918 style seat is wider with electric height adjust which is the full bucket seat (option P11). At least that was the case when I was on the german configurator trying to pin down the 991 rs order I had before I got severely messed around....Top one is the old foldable GT2 seat aka "Full Bucket Seat". Yep, I talked to a 918 owner and the seats were his one major complaint about the car. He said he had major back aches with the seat but never experienced such issues in his old GT3 RS 4.0 with the folding buckets. and a few 918 owners on rennlist say the same thing. Good seats but uncomfortable for long drives. I do admit that the 918 seats look better but that's not what matters to me.

just spoken with my OPC and folding buckets are available to spec on GT4. Does anyone know if these are easier to get in and out of than the 918 'style' LWB?
GT2 folding look harder to me, but they are not hard to get in and out of any way, I use mine as a daily and have no issue and have lower back pain, in fact it goes away when I sit in the buckets ;-)918 style seem for fatter people ! I am keeping 918 style for that new look though, unless on Monday they feel bad to sit in !

Interesting - are they the same cost as the LWB then? Might make for a very sensible option to avoid the huge waits... I wonder why they didn't put them on the configurator in the first place, might have avoided the supply/demand issue before it arose!AdamV12V said:

Unfortunately was told that they would also delay the build.Gassing Station | Porsche General | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
