Now I am confused here is what I have been told from OPC and Porsche GB

There are no bucket seats available for anything until after Aug (inc GT3 RS)

They hope the issue will be resolved by Aug but there is no guarantee these seats will become available

No delay for PTS but this could change

I have been told to spec my car with sport seats and send a covering letter asking for buckets and CS to be added if they become available. I cannot lock the build and get a CON number ? if I order buckets

No RHD GT4's will arrive before November

Feels to me I am being asked to take a car with sports seats to ensure its a 2015 allocation

Anyone else getting this???

Yes exactly what I was told and my dealer has been 100% accurate in everything he has said so far , check back through the posts on the thread.

What about the folding buckets? can we order these now? or are they not available?

As per previous post, but beAr in mind people are being told different.

..my dealer was on phone to Germany for an hour last Friday then rang me to tell me the following.

All builds delayed until October ,November regardless of seat ordered.
No buckets available of any sort ,whether lwb,folding...if you don't order the regular/adaptive seats etc as of this moment the factory will not accept order.the order will sit on the system but the factory technically will not accept it .
In August they will make announcement regarding buckets .

I hope this is wrong and the other information others have is correct ,but bAsed on his accuracy so far I fear the info is correct.the information about if you order buckets before May 10th is old information ,it was information from early May that has been superseded.
I asked if any buckets would've available as it does not make sense for it to be impossible to not order buckets for the gt4 but order buckets for other Porsche models ,he said he would ask but so far has been unable to get an answer.

I implore those attending the preview weren't to get clarification on this,I. Too busy getting tanned and drunk to attend myself.

As a side issue reading the posts on other sites from those who have the car ,the buckets have no/little padding ,and are difficult to get in and out of,bearing in mind that they have better quality roads in Germany and wherever and how firm the ride is (think 991 with sport suspension in the 'firm' setting ),if you want to use the car on British roads and not solely as a track tool it may be worthwhile not having buckets.

I hope my guy is wrong .

OK, anybody know if the situation on buckets extends to other Porsche Models too? For instance could you order a 991 GTS with folding buckets as at today?

Surely if both types of buckets are unavailable on RHD GT4 they should be unavailable for all RHD models... confused

He said it effects gt3 rs as well ,but I guess due to price they will get preference .

GT3RS has the LWB seats, whereas a 991 or 981 GTS optionally can have the std folding buckets. Seems odd if you could still order one of those with folding buckets but not a GT4 or GT3RS....

It is not a gamble. They made the seats so that even tall people can be comfortable. The rest of us must add height by adding padding under the removeable seat cushion. I allways buy mattresses, sofas and chairs when i have a bad back as i can allways tell the good ones from the bad that way. These seats are good, but they require that you fit them for your size.[/]

Your 6 foot 1 ,is that not tall ? I am 6 foot so would expect similar issue ,I also have concern about getting in and out of them as I currently have a hip issue .
It requires some dexterity to get in and out. Seats are sublime with my little upgrade. I have since found a neater sulution. Found a self inflating sitting cushion for camping that fits exactly under the seat cushion.

Poor show from Porsche if that's the case, but - they know just about everyone will wait for buckets to become available so they probably couldn't care less.

I don't think so I get the feeling you take as it is or you may not get a car. We have no rights to one and nothing is contracted until the CON number.

I have no inside knowledge but I known 2014 cars will leave the factory with whatever seats are available and if we don't want them, there is a HUGE waiting list

Collected my car yesterday from Porsche Antibes. Dealership gave me very good bottle of Champagne with two matching glasses which was a very nice touch . Srangely they told me the other 3 cars they have coming the prospective owners went for sports seats not buckets however the buckets in my car look great, are comfortable and have electronic height adjustment which was a pleasant surprise. Initial impression ride is brilliant even though firm, small speed bumps OK large not so good.It may be me and early days but it is easy to select reverse instead of first which is not so good when you are waiting for lights to change!! Unfortunately the display that advises which gear you are in does not function till you are on the move.Obviously keeping the revs down so short shifting but the torque is good you still find you are travelling pretty fast

Yes, same scenario. Have been told I can reject the car in August or go for build with standard or electrically adjustable seats, PCM etc: Bit of a dilemma really. As I don't want to track the car this would be no real problem but not sure about resale. Suppose it all depends how many cars are sold without buckets/clubsport.

Just wondering if it may be possible to take the car with sport seats then have the buckets fitted by Porsche at a later date

I'm sure it would be possible, but I'd bet once you hear the price you wouldn't want to!

To give you an idea - I have an Aston V12Vantage currently with factory bucket seats. Aston charge about £2500 to spec them at new (so similar to Porsche), however they charge around £11,500 to supply and fit a pair retrospectively! yikes
