I've changed my spec from 918 buckets (code P11) to 18 way adaptives (P07) due to -
1. Retains July build slot
2. They will be more comfortable for European trips than the buckets with rumoured comfort issues
3. I can have heating
4. £700 less (with heating included)
5. I'll never track it, so cage and buckets are just not necessary for me.

I sometimes have back issues and cannot risk the seats being uncomfortable, although I have to say the 918 seats look great and go very well with the theme of the car.
the adaptive sports are perfect for road use, and the odd track day...but if you intend to track it I would go with the buckets, as for residuals if it follows the GT3, CS pack with buckets will be more desirable......

Fair summary, the residuals consideration has only been so much at the forefront in recent years. As the tide goes out, really will not matter to any appreciable extent that everyday driving is compromised.

Not followed the gt3 market recently, but when I was looking at them (997 gt3) about 3-4 years back there was no price difference between those with and without buckets

My P man just back from the factory tells me the issues around supply of the buckets is that the supplier just can meet demand. They are making units for racing, 918, GT3RS and GT4 and apparently we are the last in the pecking order. My order has not been accepted as it includes buckets and I have been told I just have to wait for news - no timeline!
Got a booking for the preview on Tuesday so at least get to see them in the flesh and decide whether to wait, these should also look the business with the carbon pack i picked.

I don't think you will see buckets on Tuesday.
You might see a GT4 in white, no buckets, sports seats black/red and with club sport pack.

That's a rather specific prediction? Were you there tonight perhaps?

I was at Silverstone this morning for a 991 GTS drive and asked about the GT4 event, but the driver said he had been told nothing and knew almost nothing about it. I looked for GT4's inside and in the carparks too but there were none at all. All very secretive.

So who has got some pics to share of tonights event?

Without reading every age, what's the deal with ordering a gt4 right now? Is the stuff about them not being limited true? If so how many decades is the waiting list at the moment?

Yellow GT4 with buckets and cage along with White GT4 no buckets both on display this evening at PDE and both RHD pre production cars apparently

Buckets really are lovely, and not too upright for me at least.

the white looked dull so no pics peeps of the white one, it was all about the yellow for me.

stunning in real life.

As said the yellow was full CS pack. but no leather sothe doors were a bit plastic for me on it, bar that mega thing. GT3 weight on clutch though, it was heavy.

Nothing I didn't already know TBH, nice to see and have a proper poke around and sit in it, shame we've got to wait for ours, but looks like it'll be well worth it !

Long chat with my OPC today. My car is loaded and spec includes Clubsport and buckets for Sept build. No specific delay at present other than the oft quoted 10 weeks which my OPC believes will be sorted by Sept? What he did say was that they cannot load buckets to the system - since May!
Something that occurs to me is does the "buckets ban" apply to orders for buckets only without the club sport package? Clearly the club sport package must have buckets.
It's all a bit of a mess. Anybody had a CS order knocked back?

Re the clutch weight ,always confused me on the 997gt3 as I drove 5 or 6 and on some the clutch was heavy ,on others it wasn't too bad.I never worked out if it was a mileage thing ,maybe a gt3 owner can enlighten us .
None of the gt4 owners have mentioned it as an issue so far, maybe the car needs to be running and the oils warmed up so to speak ?
