Did you not fancy a change after owning Mexcio ?

I always have to have a brand new colour on a new car.

On a plus note it must have looked good to go for it again :-)

Still waiting for some to say "I am having Viper"
I showed the wife some of those pts greens, to which she said "if you do (get any of those colours) I'm not getting in the car with you."

So I've ordered viper .

(No I haven't)

I haven't decided on colour yet, Sapphire Blue with Silver Wheels or Carrara White Metallic with the Porsche strip down the side I think. It could all change yet, hopefully the Yellow car will still be there

I'm at Silverstone for the day tomorrow so looking for a few idea's there.

you will see a white one as well as a yellow one tomorrow. I was there on Monday but only got to see the yellow one. Striking in yellow but I guaged peoples reactions to it and most of them reacted negatively. At the moment I am guards red with platinum wheels. Also considering black with black wheels or sapphire with silver wheels. Difficult to decide!

Been monitoring what people are saying about their specifications and it seems that most of you are not going for the sports chrono pack. I still have it down on my spec, am I wasting my money?

If you are tracking the car a lot and want lap times and stuff then no,go for it,if you are using mostly on road with the odd track day ..then it's a total waste .

Your not allowed to time on a trackday anyway as it invalidates the trackday organiser's insurance, personally i'm not having it in my spec.

As my parking is width restricted I am assuming/hoping that the mirrors are manually folding and not fixed. Is this the case anyone?

I'm having it because my partner likes the look of the thing on the dash. Seriously. He doesn't know what it is or what it does, he calls it the Cuckoo Clock.

I've tried explaining that on every other model it effects the way the car drives, even if only a little bit, on a GT4 all it does is change the way the dash looks and gives you the Track Precision App, he doesn't care, it's only money.

I'll post a video of it with the car data overlaid on footage of me going around the Vauxhall One way system when I take delivery. See how much G I can generate on the right hander outside the RVT.

I was also there on Monday, 1st time I had seen the GT4....thought the yellow worked well, gives the lines some depth....

Made the trip to silverstone yesterday, long but worthwhile.
one of the guys was really helpful - he drove the yellow test car over from Germany.
On air conn: His comments no air conn were - Hot (open the windows) loud (close the windows) - Hot - open the windows loud etc.
On the seats: Apparently they are looking to offer the P03 foldable seats as an option very soon and expect the P11 buckets situation to also ease soon.
This was my main reason for going and found the buckets (love the look with my carbon pack) too uncomfortable, I am 5'10" and did try raising my bum an inch or so a la the suggestion of putting something under the Velcro stuck down Alcantara padding & it did help. they do seem to be set for a taller person. but the electric adjustment just raises & lowers the seat and does not tilt it & I could not get comfortable. I reckon with a helmet this forwards posture would be exacerbated! Also the guy said a few 918 users have complained & I really would not want to be going on any long trip in these so have switched to the fully adjustable ones. I feel the discomfort would stop me getting the most from the car and enjoying on a daily basis - just my opinion but i do get some back issues.
As one guy said the yellow car had a pretty plasticy feel about it ( no options except carbon pack & CS) whereas the white car with all the comfort and trim options was a much nicer feel.
Other comments;
Clutch - fairly heavy,
gear shift - really very mechanical and positive.
car looks great - white was a bit dull though accept inside.
apparently anyone who has confirmation of a a slot should now have the experience day appt! so I was advised to chase my OPC & a date should receive a booking immediately.

Went to Silverstone PEC today expecting it to be of limited value but really enjoyed it and well worth the effort.

Staff were very helpful and met some great people who were enthusiastic current and future GT car owners - there was quite a buzz.

The GT4 certainly did not disappoint - I though it was a lot more impressive in the flesh than in pictures.

I loved the yellow car: The white one was a little anonymous but grew on me. Interior upgrades in White car really did lift it.

I agree with all the comments. Regarding the seats, brain says 10-way Sport Seats - which were fabulous and I suspect for most people would be the best choice for most of the time - but heart still says buckets, which again were superb and fit seemed OK for me. Hard to tell though sat stationary, which is no substitute for even a short test drive.

Car front splitter was lower than I expected (5mm lower than GT3 RS, but that had done zero miles and suspension had not settled, whereas yellow GT4 had been driven back from Germany). Rear visibility as expected - cage is unobtrusive.

Yellow GT$ will be one of the PEC cars (it has PCCB), white car will also be used until a replacement car arrives. PEC will rotate through 3 GT4s.

Based on what I saw I will tweak my spec a little:

Stick with yellow (for now) but standard wheels rather than black
Add smokers package
Keep CS package (heart over rules brain)
Switch back from leather steering wheel option to Alcantara
Switch from the dark aluminium interior trim back to carbon
Add illuminated carbon door sill guards (pointless I know but I like them)
I am also keeping all the others options to have a pretty fully loaded car (I think Sports Chrono is a no brainer on a GT car even if its is useless!), always go for a headlight upgrade if there is one (again a no brainer imho), likewise climate control etc
Still seriously considering Gulf Orange or Porsche Green PTS but Yellow looks great ...

A couple of owners on some other Porsche forums have commented on an issue with regards to wearing a helmet with the lwb's.
