Hey guys - I'm late to the party, though was about time I got involved after all this lurking and obsessing for this car!!!

My allocation was confirmed about a month ago for the GT4 after a long wait and plenty of messing around.

Im all specked up for a November build....Carmine Red, Black wheels, THE all important LWB confirmed with a possible 10 week delay + much more!!

This will be my first Porsche, to say I'm excited is a major understatement!!!
Nice one. Congrats on getting an allocation!

I was in the same situation as yourself. I originally had specced LWBs but then the whole availability saga began and I took myself to the preview event, sat in both cars (one with adaptive and one with LWB) and I really couldn't get comfortable in the LWBs, as much as they looked great I will be using this car for long journeys and 3/4 days a week at times. The adaptive really are so much more comfortable and supportive so I ticked that box.

However, the sports folding buckets were then released and I've decided to go with them as they have better lumbar than the 918 and they don't sit as upright so I feel they are a good compromise, plus they have just been reduced in price to £1500ish - I'm of the opinion that the car should be specced with buckets and unless you are using it as a DD or have severe back issues then your probably best going for the adaptives or standard sports seats plus.

How will you be using your car?

I take it everybody knows P11 LWB are now available again - albeit that the 10week delay is back. Must admit I didn't know that P03 had been reduced in cost - that certainly makes them a very attractive offer right now.

Buying a new vehicle to your own spec should be a pleasurable experience ,Porsche have somehow managed to turn this into a prolonged nightmare ,I've changed my spec 3-4 times and basically ended up with my original spec but with a 10 weeks delay to build despite now not having lwb's.

Very very poor experience ,getting the car now will not be the joyous event it should be,it will be more of a relief.

Sat in the 918 buckets in the GT3 RS at Goodwood and wasn't sure I'd want to be in them for too long. Nearly settled for the 18 way seats, but currently have p03 folding buckets and fit me much better. Ever better news that they have dropped in price for 2200 to 1500! Even better they can be heated too. So have gone for P03.
It may be useful to have folding s acts to get to the shelf behind the seats easier too (esp if loading furniture...😜)

so heres an interesting one on seats and Porsche pricing strategy.... for the Spyder the Sports Bucket seats are the standard fit therefore the 2 way and or 18 way Sports Plus seats are a £0.00 option and the LWBs are a £971 option. Whereas on the GT4 the Sports plus 2 way are standard and all other seats are costed options. Where is the pricing logic in that :-)

can you elaborate on what it was about the 918 buckets that made you think you couldn't sit in them for long, and for you to prefer the folding buckets? Is it true that the 918 bucket seat is more upright than PO3?

I found the 918 seats too upright and lacked decent lumbar padding. The folding bucket is positioned at a better angle, more snug and feels 'softer' if that's such a thing! smile

To be honest though, some people may find the LWB better for their posture compared to the folding, so you really have to sit in them both to be sure

Similar to miskalachi's comments...

I found the 918 style buckets too upright (even when fiddling with the high adjuster) and the shoulder support sections turned in too much for my body shape, as if the seat was too concave and my back, especially lower back did not get proper support. The P03 folding seats hold my body shape much better. With the 918 style buckets I felt I was sitting on them more. As I have the folding buckets in my Spyder and I know that I can sit in the folding buckets for hours on end without any back twitching etc.

I didn't feel that with the 918 style seats when I sat in them. I'm 6 foot and pretty slim and prefer the folding bucket seats. I wanted to love the new ones as the look very nice, but not going to spec the "new" buckets because they are newer and look pretty cool, but are less comfortable imo. Now that the folding buckets can be heated and are less than the 918 style seats with heating, that is even better.

Hope that helps?

Just had confirmation that my car has been locked in with the Lightweight fixed bucket seats. They are unsure on the delay but keeping me posted. The wait begins hehe

Nice one.

Might I enquire if there is anyone else still out there that has a deposit in, order on the system, but still no car allocation?

I've always been lead to believe that I should get a car next year but nothing can be confirmed just yet.

If as has been said, production ends at the end of Feb, then I suppose there is still a chance.

Anyone ib the know got wind of further production for the UK after all our combined whinging?

May have to settle for some real cheese in the end though. Red Leicester is a nice colour...

very helpful.

I too find the PO3 in my GT3 perfect. Agree need to sit on 918 seats to be sure, but that's not easy!

I sat in both the 18 way and the 918 LWB back to back at Goodwood, to be honest they are both VERY nice places to be and couldn't complain with either. But for me when I climbed in the fixed buckets confirmed how much more special the car is with them, there would always be something missing on this car without them.
