GT4 1.25 secs off a 991 GT3 round a (relatively) short lap...

GT3 still proving to be quite the weapon looking at the rest of the top ten.

Bargain at £150k !!

And the chap peddling the 4.0 was obviously being cautious, don't blame him at £350k !!

Or he was just shadowing his mate in the GT4 as a camera car.

Myriad of factors from tyres & geo to the driver - but that a £64k manual Cayman can hang with it is astonishing, that's 4yrs of progress for you.

Think it just proves tyre tech has improved quite a bit for the difference with the older GT3.....

track looks to tight for the GT3 hence why RWS got the time imo.

I am inclined to agree. I am hoping one of the magazines will at some point have the courage to compare old and new gen cars on equal, modern tyre technology (i.e. 996/997 GT3s vs 991 GT3s and 991 C2S, Cayman R vs GT4, Carrera GT vs 918, all on new MPSC2 rubber) but I guess that's a great way to get stlisted with Porsche's PR department so nobody does it.

Possibly the first case of "I expected a 3.8L GTS and all I got was a stiff track toy with terrible ground clearance", with many more to come. wink

Black lhd 1,800km GT4 on mobile.de for the equivalent of £78,500 if anyone is interested. Seems reasonably well specced too.

Can you imagine the pettiness and bhing when 25% appear on the market come springtime (after a majority take delivey in winter) laugh

Just looking through the classifieds, rhd for sale, ready in August, £71k
http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/p...

So has that gained a premium or lost money?

I know someone who contacted them as wants one.

They are paying £71k want 'around £90!' said in the ad something along the lines of ' wanting a sensible premium above list in the ad'

I called them too as my brother also wants one. They want list plus 25k. My brother offered them list plus 12k and they said that they had already rejected a higher offer

Blimey he called them about 6 weeks ago so they must have gauged demand and upped what they were looking for!

That's at least a few calls they have had then.

Wow, and they'll probably get it. I was talking to an OPC 2wks ago and one of their regulars has offered £15-20k depending on if the car is already 'locked' or still spec changeable. Tempted but life's too short, and don't know what else I would buy.

Just imagine how much time you could shave off that with a PDK GT4 smile

If you can live with it get a lhd and save £25k!

There are even a few clubsports available at around this price bracket - I am sorely tempted.

Finalised my spec this morning originally going with the 18 way seats but caved in and selected the LWBs after seeing the rendered pictures on configurator
