Catchpole reckons the 991 RS steering is as good as hydraulic. Anyone know what would be involved in upgrading the GT4's to the same?
I would say it's the same system, as both built at the same time.

If you buy a L/H drive IMPORT and the previous owner has owned the car for less than six months and driven less than 6000 km then it is considered new in the eyes of the VAT man and VAT will be payable when you try to register. Not sure if the second owner can reclaim the VAT from the original Porsche dealership.Probable nightmare anyway.

Must at least be different software because the GT4 feels nothing like a hydraulic GT3: none of the detailed textural feedback or feeling of sharp mechanical connection.

Lol.

I'm now thinking to get buckets. I would love PCCB but it's too much money.

Come resale what's is it going to be like with 18 way and not buckets.
From what I gather most cars have been sold with 18ways ,so no issue for resale. On here most are buying buckets but that really doesn't mean anything.
There's a lot of mythology on here about buckets ,plenty of willy waving .
Buy what you are comfortable in,not what some stranger off the internet thinks you should buy.

I've not decided,I'm on 18 way but I'm driving a gt3 with folding buckets the next few days which may make me switch.
I had the lwb's but decided against them as I'm fed up with the delays, and a sit in them recently put me off.

My salesman in France said the two important options for resale are buckets and leather with the stitching colour to match the paint. However things might be different in the UK. Logically there will be similar ratios of used buyers wanting each type of seat as new buyers but seat ratios could be skewed by the current shortage of LWBs.

Just get what you want. There's no point trying to guess whether the next buyer will think the same or differently. Each seat will suit different people much better than the others. Though if I was getting non-buckets I would get the manual ones to save weight, given that they are already so comfortable. It is supposed to be a sport-compromised lightweight car after all.

Just submitted my spec for a early November build and factory collection. Gone for P03 folding buckets as P11 LWB still on a 10 week delay which on balance has made me think the P03 are the best compromise. Spec locks early Oct so its not too late to change if the delays vanish, but overall I think I am going to be happy with P03.

Oh and added in PCCB as a last min splooge, in for a penny and all that!

Now just for the wait for summer to be over ready for the delivery! wink

Yellow paint, yellow stitching (some extended on dash, steering col and 12 o-clock marker), yellow PCCB, carbon trim and door sills, platinum wheels. It's going to be the ultimate cheese-mobile smile

Its not quite that black and white. Seems it is only illegal to drive in Germany on summer tyres in "wintery conditions", not just in winter so I am largely in the hands of the weather gods, but nothing that cant be overcome if the will to do so is there I am sure. Anyway its not actually winter in November anyway, Winter starts on 21st Dec in the Northern Hemisphere! wink

I can conform this, impossible to tell the diff now between the 991GT3 RS and 997RS 4.0......GT4 feels more 991GT3 like, bobs and weaves more..

German police are quite hot on winter tyres. 1 November is the guidance see attached.

If you're tall have you checked the P03 is as low as you want in the GT4? I doubt it is as low as the P11 can go.

Not in a GT4 but I have sat in them in a normal Cayman and didn't notice any issues. I'm 6'0" so "normal" height really.

Hmm, well I have little choice in the matter so will just have to drive slowly and carefully to avoid hassle. Can't change the tyres and the date will be what it is, so...

I specifically asked today and was told that they are available but still subject to a 10 week delay to orders, hence I went with P03. Availability is one thing, but did you ask about any delays with P11?
