"on the low friction surface, flicking it round the tight corners leading up to the circle and then out again really shows just how good the chassis is."
not sure how that shows up how good a chassis is , on a low friction surface, you can do what you did in a car 20 years old and it feels great.
How are people deciding the 981 chassis is better stiffer than the 987.2 cars ?
it's NOT possible !!!

Not sure how the roads leading to the low friction circle are the low friction circle. Route in and route out. Back track was also great.
Never said a word about the 981 being superior to the 987.2 cars. That's a leap you made.
You driven it yet then?

Regarding PCCB, one thing you should try on the back track is an assessment of braking distance - there are white lines across the 'runway'. My instructor asked me to hit maximum speed from the start line at the opposite end and aim to emergency stop the car on to the opposite line based on when I felt the stop would bring the front wheels to a stop on the line. It took me three attempts - I kept stopping too short because the brakes were so good.
I expect the steels would stop in the same distance.Had a 5 hr cruise in the GT4 today. Although I would prefer more lumbar curve and a tighter fit in the LWB, back and bum were still comfy at the end.
However, although it will be a riot when on the right winding road I can use all the revs (still running in - the manual says for 3,000km), the engine and steering just don't have all the delicious 996/7 GT3 sensations that make even a cruise interesting.

How very dare you.....! As the authority on the GT4 and driving dynamics in general how dare you question him in any way Not sure how the roads leading to the low friction circle are the low friction circle. Route in and route out. Back track was also great.

Drove the GT4 at the Gold Track Silverstone GP event today. Initially was a little disappointed as the car was blighted with a lot of understeer, the excellent guys from The Circuit Club kindly forsook their Exige V6 cup's for a few minutes and moved my rear anti roll bar to it stiffest position, which turned the car into something very fabulous ! I can't get over how nice it feels, beautifully balanced, easy to hold in a minute drift just on the edge of adhesion, and very fast. Passed a number of 991 GT3's which were probably not being driven to their real potential. More exciting for me was the ability to keep a race Exige V6 Cup ( with a sequential box ) very honest indeed. The Exige is slightly faster but we were pretty neck and neck for several laps, and that car is a purpose built racing car . Very happy, the day ended with a rear puncture, which is going to be a bit of a problem as their are no tyres available in the UK at this time, but Porsche Centre Silverstone and my local Porsche Service Centre Brooklands are on the case, have to drive back to Silverstone tomorrow with Discovery and trailer to recover the car. But its so good on track I'm still smiling !

Fab write up ravon. You must have just taken delivery? any pics?I'm not a person keen on bigging himself up Mr Jeweller, the Exige Cup was driven by a Scottish gent, the car was blue with Union Jacks on the end plates of the wing and a very large front splitter. We spoke at length after our run, and the Scottish man said he was very impressed with the GT4. The car is run by the Circuit Club. Please keep your baseless and unresearched smug comments to yourself .

Almost all speed humps are no problem at low speed, has to be a really unusual one to need an angled approach. Only tried one ramp and it needed an angle. In terms of practicality the only thing I find annoying is the gearbox/diff whine on the motorway but I'm getting used to it.Scooty100 said:
