'flicking it round the tight corners leading up to the circle'
Not sure how the roads leading to the low friction circle are the low friction circle. Route in and route out. Back track was also great.
Never said a word about the 981 being superior to the 987.2 cars. That's a leap you made.
You driven it yet then?
in a few days. I'll doubt I will be able to tell if the chassis is better that another car though on that 30mph bit ;-)Not sure how the roads leading to the low friction circle are the low friction circle. Route in and route out. Back track was also great.

I'll leave that judgement to when I get to drive it on a UK B road at the speeds we go and play at ie above 2nd gear :-)

I also want to know what extra fun would be had !

!I despise the electric hand brake in the GT4 - would have been more fun with a manual hand brake as well!
As you own a Cayman R was really interested to hear what it was like VS the R esp regarding the steering feel etc, again I would have thought any Chassis comment was vs the R you own.

How do you find the marginal ground clearance?
Almost all speed humps are no problem at low speed, has to be a really unusual one to need an angled approach. Only tried one ramp and it needed an angle. In terms of practicality the only thing I find annoying is the gearbox/diff whine on the motorway but I'm getting used to it.P155flaps said:
How very dare you.....! As the authority on the GT4 and driving dynamics in general how dare you question him in any way
If you have done the smooth low friction part, you would well know that is not the place to find out how good the chassis is, inc the in/out part of 30 yards !hence why I asked and VS what car how one would come to that ?
I think one is going to have to wait for non legal speeds on UK B roads to find out how good the GT4 chassis is imo.

I think various lap times on twisty circuits and times when factoring power to weight confirm chassis is above average.hence why I asked and VS what car how one would come to that ?

I think the roads there are not ideal yes but ok for an initial assessment of the chassis (not pushing it to the edge agreed that's for fast track or B road blat)
When I do mine I might ask them to raise the front a few mm and increase the rear wing angle to increase overall grip ..... thoughts? ;-)
Does anyone know if we will be asked how we would like it set up on delivery or will it come in low drag and middle of three roll bar settings?
I don't for a moment think I have the slightest idea what will be best in terms of front and rear roll bar stiffness, wing angle and flaps. It probably won't make a difference to my lap time of the Vauxhall gyratory, just wondered.

you think the OPC will have a clue lolI don't for a moment think I have the slightest idea what will be best in terms of front and rear roll bar stiffness, wing angle and flaps. It probably won't make a difference to my lap time of the Vauxhall gyratory, just wondered.
it will be lease drag and setup to under steer.

Mine said 4 originally ,and that they had been given 2 more ,but last week when i was with them and quizzed him about how people had specced the cars he only mentioned 4 .
There you go you don't know what to believe..... Its not like they are sitting around on forecourts though Scooty100 said:

Not yet there not no, was going to say wait until the engines start catching fire or need replacing but then realised its got the boggo 991 engine in and theyve been fine so far (i think) :clown:Gassing Station | Porsche General | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
