Excellent - just in time before the Ring shuts down for the autumn. Are you going for a Ring set up or an outright fast circuit set up? Let us know how you get on - will be interesting to know how far Manthey think you can go without too many compromises elsewhere.

A little off topic Ravon, but wanted to know if you have the standard xenons or the PDLS? was keen to find out what your thoughts were on the set up you have.

Did you get to drive it on the track? I only drove the black one on the road so couldn't really say if the brakes were better than the yellow one on the track which was a little underwhelming in the 0-60-0 test.

The interior of that black car is just fabulous though ..... apart from the wrong seats.

Yes did full session in black car - yellow one was not running. Brakes felt very good to me. Might have liked just a tad more initial bite but very powerful and no fade at all. Easy to modulate. I am sticking with PCCBs.

Black car only had 400 miles or so on it and felt very tight.

Just bought my car in Germany so had no input to the spec which is pretty basic, headlights are standard and seem very good, do quite a bit of night driving, no complaints.

Will talk with Martin at Manthey when I get there about the most suitable set-up for road and track.

Won't be doing any lapping, I've had my time at the 'Ring right back to the earliest Wheeltorque events and then some VLN racing. Did a DN event a couple of years ago and felt that I was a bit old for the thing, but have lots of good memories.

Wish I'd known that was the approved running in technique (contrary to what it says in the handbook).

It had 230 miles on it when I had it for an hour on the local roads around Silverstone. Was told to rev it to the red line at every opportunity. In first only of course as second would be naughty cool

nice mismatch, I had my rear camber reduced as I was killing fronts edges and not touching the rear edge at all.

all cars differ I managed -1.2 up front, but only -1 on my Spyder which was not enough so fitted RSS LCA.

did they give you a blank look :-)

not sure how you can roll off over -2 rear camber though when you only have -1 up front and is washing out all the time.

Well the proof was in the geo set-up from TrackTorque and the photographs spoke for themselves.

Come out for a drive some time ?

I ran -2 all round on my Cayman to very good effect.

Needs K-mac top mounts on the front to achieve that though.

Ravon I'm sure in a previous post you'd been to brands on a track day. How did the noise test go in the gt4?

In a post a few days ago I tried to be analytical in describing the effect of changing the ARB to stiff (brilliant, in a word). Yesterday as I drove up my local mountain road I didn't think about anything except going as fast as I dared. Mind blowing! Familiarity with the road combined with the GT4's ideal weight balance, low polar moment of inertia, brilliant damping and clarity of steering gave the confidence to push incredibly hard through the 1st gear hairpins, 2nd gear sequences of all shapes and cambers and lower 3rd gear sweepers with dips and crests. The wild G forces in all directions were matched by the ripping exhaust note (with windows down and exhaust button pressed). I don't think I've ever had such a rush on four wheels, and on that road I can't imagine any other car at any price being better.

I can think of a few cars which might be better at 1/2 the price :-). But it's great we are seeing some exciting reviews.
