Having spoken to Andreas Preuninger this morning; this is his official position on a PDK version GT4 and requested I share with the Internet:
"I am afraid the current GT4 with PDK story is complete nonsense, I never said this to anybody. I generally state that we monitor the market Situation before we plan new models and that future generation GT cars could offer the choice of either manual or PDK, but thats years from today and not decided yet. I have no problem if you share that Information."

It's over 10% shorter which, although not ideal, is nothing to sniff at. There's a biiiig difference in how much I work the gearbox on my 85mph in 2nd GT3 (same as all manual 981s) and how much I work the gearbox on my 75mph in 2nd 981 GTS PDK, and it's not in the GT3's favour

I am 6'3 ½" (and slim) and have spent 6 hours/day with just a half hour break for lunch and find the LWB really comfy. However they do require agility to get in and out of so for a bad back that could be a problem.

How many is enough? ;0) I'll probably manage 4-6 a year, but I decided that was often enough to 'need' the stopwatch, plus I'm curious to know how well the app works along with the video recording.turbofreeFLAT6 said:
The steel brakes are superb so unless you are able to feel the weight advantage in the steering response and bump control they are a very expensive unnecessary option. Improved bump control is the last thing the GT4 needs and I found that setting the rear ARB to stiff, as well as perfecting the balance, made the steering lighter and more responsive. The GT4 steels also rust much less than any others I have had. Ceramics have less brake dust but those magnificent wheels are not a hardship to wash, especially with some space around the callipers...
I hated the steel brakes on my 997 GTS, hence my pccbs decision. I also HATE cleaning wheels because of my having to bend down with my bad back; that was it, really. I also thought they performed fantastically on my friend's Cayman GTS.turbofreeFLAT6 said:
The rest is a matter of taste and interests. For me it is a car that should be kept as raw and light as possible and I prefer hearing the engine and exhaust to listening to music/radio so I left out all the electronic options but I do wonder whether I should have included climate and auto wipers.
Whilst I see the idea of keeping it raw as desirable, I plan on driving this car on reasonably long road trips and the satnav was a must, hence PCM and the obligatory upgrade to the better audio. I also need Bluetooth and quite fancied voice control; I use both on a daily basis in my work BMW and wouldn't be without them.EricE said:

What if you spec Sport Chrono Plus without a radio, it wouldn't be able to show any data without a screen.

it's still laughable though, that was my point, PDK has made gear changing a non issue in fact it's quicker, So take a leaf out of Ferrari's book and make short ratio's
458S top out at 84mph in 3rd even with 600bhp !
SO excuse me laughing at 75mph in 2nd with Porsche PDK still !

Ah now that's interesting. They also told me they had gotten 5 cars in total and I was the last allocation! Anyhow nov build dec delivery. I have asked salesman there to let me know when they have one in. I don't have my pec drive till November . PorscheGT4 said:

997 GTS steels are 330mm 1-piece with 4 piston callipers front and rear.GT4 steels are 380mm 2-piece with 6 pistons front, 4 rear. Very different and all the car needs.

As the final comment says 'just go drive the wheels off it'. It shouldn't be a given that people make huge premiums on new cars anyhow. Ill be driving mine as much as I want to regardless of values Squeaky bum time if your speculating on a GT4 and have a late build slot!

Colour is GR and build date is mid Oct (delivery end Oct). I think I was no. 2 or 3 on the list. My PEC day is toward the end of Oct.
