Says it all. It's always best to fight on a level playing field (if not one tilted in your favour). Before getting into a war of words with cmoose you need to learn English and clear thinking. And, by the way, I happen to agree with the moose's views on cars.
Very refreshing, Patent, to have my vocabulary extended on this forum.
Well I happen not to agree with his views on cars. Anything built after 1960 seems to be in his terms sacrilege and somehow ' not 911' and yet he has never owned any of these cars he seems to hold in the highest 911 esteem. We all have views on what we like and that is what an open forum is all about I just don't like someone who literally leaps on a sentence and then decides to twist it in a patronizing attempt to support their own rather narrow minded view. Oh and if by the way you are going to say something in a similar way and say a pher should learn English, so should you. Starting a sentence after a full stop with a conjunction that you have done shows a very poor grasp too.Very refreshing, Patent, to have my vocabulary extended on this forum.

Will everyone stop bhing at each other and get back to talking about cars, please?! I didn't join PistonHeads.com so as to endure this type of incredibly tiresome, he started it/she started it, pointless bloody conversation. For crying out loud, please put all of your toys back in your respective prams, be they of Porsche manufacture or not, and let everyone else enjoy this forum for the purpose intended.

Any more news on the GT4 being potentially offered with PDK in the near future? I was shown an email from someone that stated Andreas Preuninger thought his comments about a PDK version in the near future were taken out of context. Interested if anyone has any more information.
I think it has been mentioned about 200 times in this thread, but no, it will not be offered with PDK in the near future. TJB82 said:

Agreed. So back on track my insurer is insistent on a tracker at an additional cost of £1250 which im keen to avoid. The flipside to this insurer is unlimited UK track day cover. Anyone use an insurer with unlimited track cover and no tracker required? acey81 said:

Oh has it apologies then. I thought just over a week ago Preuninger in a discussion with a Planet 9 member said the GT4 will be offered with PDK and didn't rule out this model.Scooty100 said:

I'm frustrated by the need for the tracker, too, but I'd imagine your expenditure might be reflected in the price if/when you decide to sell the car on. Actually the upfront cost doesn't bother me so much for that reason, but the £200 or so per year does! What I will say is that when I had it on my 997.2 GTS it filled me with confidence leaving it un-garaged as I could tell if anyone had made off with it! A friend of mine recommended a third party fitter that can fit the Cobra equivalent of the official Porsche VTS for about £850, if you're interested? But I would rather have the 'proper' one, even if it is a con, just because I want the thing covered by Porsche's guarantee.Would you mind sharing which insurer you use that includes track-day insurance, please? I was going to just add my car to our Admiral Multicar policy, but the benefit of track insurance sounds quite attractive.

OF course I use Mannings. I have found them very competent and reasonable its just the need for the tracker annoys me . tksWould you mind sharing which insurer you use that includes track-day insurance, please? Thanks, much appreciated, I'll give them a call. Meanwhile, I've just asked for a single day track day quote from Moris.co.uk for comparison, should I decide to stay with Admiral and just pay as I track for insurance. I'll let you all know their price.berty37 said:
Interesting Scooty - I thought on a UK Porsche with a base price above £50k the cobra or Porsche VTS tracker was standard equipment.
I was led to believe something similar, but with a price of £70k. I guess that would make sense, given that the base price of this car is about £65k.A friend of mine has a Cayman GTS with an invoice value including options of £79k - nutter - and he had to pay for one, too. They're dealer fit only, by the way, not a factory option.
Hi
It won’t have a tracker in it as standard but it will have the wiring to dealer fit the VTS system, cost will be circa £1,200 incl. VAT.
That’s the cost of the first years road tax then in the second year it will drop down to about £450/£500 per annum, all new cars are more when they are new apart from electric cars.
Regards
The above was from my OPC

The Planet 9 discussion was made up, or misunderstood and Andreas has firmly confirmed it to be nonsense that PDK is coming to the 981.1 version. There are rumours of more units coming in Manual, but that again is nothing more than Internet gossip at present.Scooty100 said:

Right. Maybe worth checking the actual Cobra people too. Its the same system and as you say the wiring etc - could be cheaper to go direct with them rather than have the OPC fit it.It won’t have a tracker in it as standard but it will have the wiring to dealer fit the VTS system, cost will be circa £1,200 incl. This is the first (new) car I've bought since the abolition of the tax disc. Does the price of the car include the first year's tax, still? Or do we have to fund that?It won’t have a tracker in it as standard but it will have the wiring to dealer fit the VTS system, cost will be circa £1,200 incl. VAT.
