Track day insurance from Moris.co.uk has just come back as £298 + tax!

Is this normal?! Anyone got any tips as to where else might be cheaper?
I got quoted £3K by Moris to take my Boxster GTS on track once so I think you're doing quite well hehe

Mario i think the norm is circa £250 per day. Free track day cover through Mannings is decent and the premiums aren't that far off the mark. Boils down to how often you intend tracking the car i guess. It used to include European cover but the pulled that earlier this year

So another point is ARB adjustment upon car collection. Im just wondering if i can collect the car but go for test drives with them changing the settings for me at various intervals then eventually deciding on the setting that i like the best.

I doubt it

it is a ramp job, an OPC will not do this on the ground.

I'm not sure they would be willing to do that, unless you have a very good relationship with your dealer.

I would guess that the car has been set up to understeer or be neutral at the limit to appeal to all driver levels so it may be a good idea to leave it 'standard' for a while until tried and tested ARB/geo changes start to appear on the forums or with tuners like PARR and JZM etc.

What you up to these days AV I see you getting one of these GT4s - how about the 991 RS you in for one of those too?
No mate.....RS would be too extreme for me. Awesome piece of kit though.

It probably is a good idea to leave it standard until you start to feel the GT4's limits. They are so unbelievably high that a little understeer makes it easier.

As I posted a few weeks ago I changed the rear bar to stiff and found that instead of constant very slight understeer unless really provoking the rear, the car is now completely neutral with steady throttle, and both lifting and accelerating lets you straighten the steering. The car feels so much more alive and agile, always on its toes instead of just being steadfastly planted, and seemingly without inertia or momentum at either end. It’s still confidence inspiring but now really holds your attention as you sense the reactions to steering and throttle inputs. Most of the time it feels like the rear tyres are just able to contain full throttle if you apply it smoothly. The steering is lighter and more willing and the front wheels feel directly connected to your hands rather than separated by a couple of metres of mechanical components.

Hadn't realised you'd posted on the adjustments mentioned . Did your OPC change the rear for you?

Thanks but I'm already sorted, my comment was just something I thought would be an interesting aside the discussion. I'm with Lockton but before I took out yet another policy with them, I was doing due diligence and looking at possibilities of going with other insurers and just adding TD cover on an ad hoc basis (I'll prob do 3-5 days a year in that particular car) but individual quotes for days for me were ridiculous despite the fact I've been at this TD malarkey about 6 years now hehe

Free of charge. Though that could have been to make up for not getting one of the hoist arms in the right place and leaving a small dent in the underside of the sill. Hopefully they would do it as a bit of goodwill anyway given that it's a 10 minute job.

I see. I have no issues with Mannings other than the tracker situation and if i get my backside to more track days it'll pays dividends. Roll on gt4 delivery i can then tell Moose my findings as an owner hehe

Cool many tks ill shoot them over an email and ask. Did you find the middle settings led to understeer? May have to insist on this change

Yep. My experience has been on road. Ravon also found stiff rear excellent on track.

Does that mean because my spec isn't locked I may miss out on LWB? Or does my spec as it stands go forward?

I'd have said you'll be ok as you have a confirmed build slot but what do I know . Tbh if worse case you ended up with the folding buckets it's not the end of the world. I found them very good in the RS I drove
