Does that mean because my spec isn't locked I may miss out on LWB? Or does my spec as it stands go forward?
I'd have said you'll be ok as you have a confirmed build slot but what do I know . Tbh if worse case you ended up with the folding buckets it's not the end of the world. I found them very good in the RS I drove
I've had the folding bucket seats on a couple of Spyders and quite happy with them..BUT..I'd still like to try the full buckets. It's annoying that (maybe), the spec keeps getting diluted.

I got to try them back to back last week . The folding buckets seem somewhat tighter but the 918 looks really smart around the head rest area and of course can be lowered. Important when over 6ft

I have ordered folding buckets being a slim 5'8" they suit me better than the 918 style!
also found them very comfortable on long journeys

+1

I am also the same body type and height and the folding buckets felt a lot more comfortable for me than the 918 - the recline and lumbar support was better.

When do you know when your order is locked in. I've paid my deposit specified the car and had an order number confirmation but no build date, although my dealer is telling me I should get the car in October..I'm also told I should have my build date in a week or so!

If he's telling you October delivery then you should know the build date and be in lockdown by now . Best call and speak to the sales manager

Also, ask for the V status of the build. It should be available to your dealer and will tell you exactly where your order stands.

Hmm I'm beginning to wonder to be honest. I've not been hassling the dealer and to be fair to him he's made no guarantees.of definite dates.

I assume having an order number means your spec is locked in, which is the main thing.

In my experience no . Also you are not given a 'lockdown' date as such Porsche just inform the opc when your car is now in lockdown. I've changed my spec so many times I'm getting to know the system !

I'll ask the dealer if it's in lockdown, all I know is that he was pretty determined to get me to spec the car about a month or so ago which I did. That said I don't know if that's just a ploy to get more money out of me(-:

I think my deposit was 10% once I specified the car, or there abouts.
