A 981.2 with rear wheel steering would be a killer in my view!
The purists (read: owners of 981.1) would of course argue that it is less "analog" but I don't think I've read a single bad review about the technology so far. Effectively a car with 987 wheelbase going into corners and 991 wheelbase at high speed... yes please.

Those pics have really made me think I should have left my deposit down and 'stuck it out' it really does look great.
Still not sure I could part with the RS to have one. (Which i would have to being sensible)
Still, i plan to keep an eye on the used market for these over the next few months. Be interesting to see where they go. I do think 100k plus is mental for a Cayman.

If I go yellow then I'd have to spec yellow stitching and I just cannot justify the £800 for someone to change a spool of thread.
I'll stick to white
I found it hard to justify such an outrageous price but eventually swallowed it and am glad I did. The yellow on yellow looks tremendous.I'll stick to white

Can't see the need. On the GT3 it combats low speed understeer and high speed instability but with the right setup on a mid-engine layout they're non-issues. With rear ARB set to stiff the GT4 is super neutral and agile in the tight stuff yet it's stable at speed. But perhaps on the GT3, RWS has achieved the ultimate in performance, combining mid-engine handling with rear-engine traction. However for involvement, is rear-engine without RWS still the best? The purists (read: owners of 981.1) would of course argue that it is less "analog" but I don't think I've read a single bad review about the technology so far. lets take 2 cars at the same 2nd hand price atm. the 50th Ed 991 or a GT4 you would have to say the GT4 looks better value even at £100k !Still not sure I could part with the RS to have one. (Which i would have to being sensible)

the only thing ever going for a 991 was the 3.8, now the GT4 has that and then some, GT4 makes 991's look very very expensive cars.

OK, how comfortable are the 918 lightweight seats ?
For me, they could be the best seats I've ever had on a car ...
Today I planned a day around country roads north of Leeds and ended up in Scotland !!
Almost 450 miles and 9 hours with an average speed very close to 49mph --- and 25+ mpg.
The running-in is now starting to be fun

Agree re. 918 seats, but I could do with a fraction more lower lumbar - possible to manually add this with padding, just like you would on a competition seat. For me, they could be the best seats I've ever had on a car ...

What tyre pressure have you been running..? I set 2.0bar front, and 2.3bar rear, when tyres at 15C ambient. Pressures rise to 2.3F, and 2.6R after say 20 miles A road driving, and the car does begin to feel a little more 'skittish' at the front. I dropped them back to 2.1F, and 2,4R, and all was good..!

No probs there, mine will unlikely see a track (2 race cars in the garage)
Any rev limits though? I've seen discussion on the subject, but nothing concrete warranty wise.
book says sub 4200rpm for 2k miles !Any rev limits though? I've seen discussion on the subject, but nothing concrete warranty wise.
or to quote AP on the subject
"people driving their GT4 or GT3 straight from the dealership to the track are hurting their cars". He then explained his own recommendation (admitting 2000 was a bit too much):
- For the first 500 km (300 mi), never go over 5,000 rpm
- Then increase the max rpm by 500 increments every 200 mi (not 100% sure on that distance), which should get you to 1,300 mi or so. "

How are you planning to use it? Trackdays and occasional country road trips or as a daily driver as well?
