Does Porsche have any intention of running the car in GT4 racing?
Would that present the opportunity for factory-supplied shorter diffs in future?
Sorry I missed this. I posted some details on the upcoming racer Cayman a while back in another thread.Would that present the opportunity for factory-supplied shorter diffs in future?
The race car will be using PDK and will be a bit below GT4 series level in terms of pitch. It is aimed at the club racer in the main, offering a factory supplied entrance/gateway to Porsche racing. Support etc will come from main dealers.
That was last I heard/saw and I haven't heard anything to the contrary. Until it drops as a physical unit though there is always potential for changes in all directions of course.
I believe cars will be delivering before December though. Some are looking like they might pop up in Continental GS class. The current Porsche there was a prepped 997 GTS. BGB also ran a 3.4 Cayman in there that did ok but was outgunned in terms of making podiums. Porsche Club Racing in the US should be opening up a series for the cars too starting next year so expect the bulk to head there since that is the market.

Had my GT4 PEC day on Friday.
I've been keeping an eye out for a Voodoo Blue Porsche but have yet to see one in the flesh. None at Classics at the Castle a month ago and none at Silverstone. They had a Mexico C4S but the guy I asked at Silverstone said he'd never seen Voodoo. I hope it looks OK since its cost me a couple of grand and a 9 week delay.

How long does it normally take from build date to delivery to the dealers? Not good at this waiting lark(-:
Just asked my OPC exactly this question. Their answer is it depends on the dates of shipping and transport from/to the docks at both this end and on mainland Europe. This can either speed up or slow down the journey by up to 10-14 days depending on how well the different elements in the journey happen to co-ordinate. paralla said:

I think I've seen every picture of Voodoo there is on the internet, just not seen one in real life. With everybody seemingly very keen on HDR photo's a the moment its a bit of a leap of faith ordering a colour without seeing it in the metal first, not even on a paint sample plate.mad ferret said:
Anyone had any experience with Suntek PPF, I normally use Paintshield but they are 2.5 hours from me and found someone localled who installs Suntek.
I wasn't going to have anything fitted but i've only done 250 mils and already 2 stone chips so a change of mind.
Check over on the McLaren forum. A new 650S owner got his done with Suntek last week.I wasn't going to have anything fitted but i've only done 250 mils and already 2 stone chips so a change of mind.

Then, you will be interested in proper photos of Saturday's Goodwood meet. https://www.flickr.com/photos/johnrampton/sets/721...
Yes it's Tadcaster, but I'm afraid I can't help you solve the "GT4" mystery ....
P.S. Yes that colour looks like Sapphire Blue --- I would have chosen this if I'd gone for the steel brakes.
Incidentally, have you seen how many of the 991GT3RS purchasers have gone for PCCB's ?
These are identical to those on the GT4 with 100kilos and 100 bhp less, so they should last !
