no, I just hate it when people keep quoting something because 1 person said it when it's not 100% correct.

When will you have yours run in/able to compare to your 996 gt3?

Is this your spinning bicycle wheel theory again?!? biggrin

Evo did the Jag steel v CCB comparison, didn't they? What was the outcome?

i ordered PCCB along with CS

did think about steels for a long time but now with various re-furb options at reasonable cost and the price of alternative CCB coming down, it may become more feasible.

But, the problem with CCB has always been that they wear with extreme heat. Which is exactly what you get on track. The effectiveness of PCCB re fade management has always been a red herring since by doing the job they are supposed to do, they wear out. The only way around this is to cool down the brakes after a few laps and start over. I don't know where the overlap is with steels re faded use. Especially with the gen 3 brakes which are purportedly more lasting (than the older stuff) and much much bigger given the lighter car and (relatively) low HP.

I would track my CSL way harder anyway............

I believe it will wear better with time than the older stuff but only 1 way to find out without aftermarket CCB

I can't see it being until the new year. I'd want to get them both on track on the same day to give the best comparison. Will also want to spend a bit of time on the setup as well. It took a while to get the GT3 to the way I liked it. The GT4 has slightly less adjustement range, so I'm sure it won't take long.

CCB came better after 14 stops over steels and once WELL into ABS area you are then looking at tyres or ABS coding
tyre-to-road adhesion only come into account once you have knocked off most of your speed !!!!

not many cars can lock tyres at 120 mph so bigger brakes stop you faster on the same tyre :-) (normally the argument which is had and people say no it's tyres)

One of the things I liked about the PCCBs I've had on previous GT3s was their feel and especially the initial bite.
My last GT3 was a 991 on steels, and to be honest they felt every bit as good as my previous 997 GT3 PCCBs, although they did squeal a little a low speeds, but anyway going with them on the GT4.

This was only with reasonable speed road use, so don't really know how they'd compare on track.

If you need a hand, bring em down to Bedford and ill happily help you track either smile

Itll be interesting to see how they compare on the road but i imagine the GT4 would be more supple/compliant but less involving

Truly a gift that keeps on giving. Your first post wasn't about the brakes or the car. It was no more than a narcissistic assertion of your own superiority expressed via a casual denigration of "every one on here".

Bit like the lugging engine debate. Very cringe to see what people post :-)

Of course you do. Although you find the perimeter between facts and your own opinions hard to locate, and that's what winds up "every one on here" from time to time..!

I'm not sure if they'll be putting it in the showroom this weekend - I'm only round the corner so might have a quick look before the Derby kicks off.

December for the meet is spot on. Gives me a chance to put a few miles on the car smile

Have all the cars that have been delivered so far had the Michelin tyres?

Any exceptions?

I imagine most sporty cars (with decent brakes) could lock the wheels at those speeds.

My 987 Cayman S can certainly lock the wheels at 120 mph.

CCBs may be more fade resistant (although Pagid RS29 type pads won't fade either), but for a single 120mph stop it would definitely be tyre limited.

Pccb vs steels - bugger all difference here. Exactly like the evo one.
