I try not to laugh at the expense of my partner but this is a corker.
He just asked me if the GT4's top speed is limited. At least that's what he was trying to ask me. What he actually said was "do we need to get the car de-motivated?" To which I replied (in a stern voice), look at you, try hard GT car, always the bridesmaid (or her hairdresser), never the bride, beetle with delusions of grandeur , not even a proper Porsche.
A few years ago when I had my Scirocco TDi 170 remapped he asked me if it had been "chip & pinned"
Like a credit card.

My 987 Cayman S can certainly lock the wheels at 120 mph.
dreaming or deluded proves my point that the posts are cringe on PHYou're a moron with a reputation for posting absolute rubbish.
I'm a normal person. I also happen to have first class honours degree in engineering. I work in engineering, and therefore I don't deal in bullst. I deal in facts, logic and evidence.
The most ridiculous aspect is that you could go out yourself and prove that a steel brake equipped car could lock the wheels as stated. Yet you still act as if people like myself are making it up for a laugh.
I know for a fact that if I jump on the brakes too hard at Riches corner at Snetterton, I can feel the front wheels lock and the ABS cut in.
Please continue to call me deluded. I'll continue to think the same about you as most other people do.....

Love it didn't know you could get that close to the circuit though Well I like PCCB's and that's why I paid for them.
But I quite understand that the PorscheGT4 police will tell me that I am completely wrong ...
It's one of the reasons I comment less and less frequently on this Forum ...
Which may be a plus, or minus ?
I'm sure that we'll get the definitive answer from some clever soul

Well the two independent magazine tests seem to suggest there is no difference in braking performance between the two systems. But I quite understand that the PorscheGT4 police will tell me that I am completely wrong ...

Yes they don't produce dust and yes they have less unsprung mass which should improve handling.
But in terms of braking performance they have repeatedly shown there to be no difference between the two. Up to a point that most will never reach. I mean, I've never had fade in my 996 GT3 on steels. I'm pretty sure I'm never going to get it in the GT4 with its monster system.
I wouldn't spec them because I know I am very very hard on brakes on the track. I'd be paranoid that I would be ruining them all the time. Steel brakes, on the other hand, are a known quantity.
Well I stay out on track for a long time where the better cooling of PCCB's makes one difference, ignoring the unsprung mass benefits ...
In my R which had PCCB's that I finished off after 32,000 miles -- at Spa, the refurbs from SICOM cost less than £4000 fitted with new pads all round --- which could be less than steels would have cost me over that time, with all the advantages for free.
I was very happy with the outcome, and accordingly re-specified pccb's on my GT4 which I will be driving at Oulton on the 4th November ...
QED ...

And to spend the best part of £5k on a £65k GT4 for ceramic brakes with virtually identical performance to steels and with many potential downsides is nonsense imo....more importantly the yellow calipers so clash with the Guards paintwork....
Thing is you are not pending 5 grand. They are free!

lol you think what you think, and we will agree to disagree, well done on your first class honours degree in engineering :-) shame you don't know much about brakes. You're a moron with a reputation for posting absolute rubbish.

people just must make stuff up on here !
If you unload a wheel you might lock it up on a corner as you state you are braking in a corner, but go try it on Senna straight and come back and let me know if ABS trigger at 120mph.
