That's not a 993 ......... It does of course have a 993 engine, but that's not quite the same......
You appear rather jealous of individuals more successful than yourself, or is it just successful individuals that are popular and genuinely nice people (such as Jack Olsen and Walter Rohrl) that get you all bitter and twisted ?

Going back to the Cayman Geo thread, that car has such little adjustment, all I said was it was pointless to spend £300 to get it back to stock.
It's got fixed front and rear LCA, the Camber at the rear is maxxed out on the R, the caster in not adjustable, neither are the front or rear ARB's and the springs are all fixed and have no height adjustemts to weight it.
you can talk all you like about how you want the car to handle pre geo but with NO adjustments to make bar very limited camber and toe, it's not going to be hard to set a Cayman up is it ? SO my advice was while it's in for a stock geo check you may as well add the extra 1/2 a degree which is available to the front camber setting. it's still no where near what one needs on track and will have no dire side effects like people were panicing on about on that thread.

I'm not sure why you'd go to all the trouble of going along to a track day to meet some fellow enthusiasts who think you talk the talk but can't walk the walk and then not actually speak to them, fearing for your own personal safety. That was odd. As if a group of middle aged men are going to lure you to a track day to beat you up. Most fun to drive : Mk1 996 GT3
Most challenging to drive quickly (In standard form) 996 GT2
Most tactile : 964 RS
Most overated : (I'll hang for this. 993 RS)
Most capable : Gen 1 997 GT3
"Prettiest" : 993 RS
Best looking : 996 GT2
Most 911 looking : 964 RS
Most disappointing : 996 GT3 RS I'll hang for this too
(most likely attributable to poor tyres, poor geo, incorrect ride heights and corner weights) the jury is still out, though a kind fellow PH'er has offered me the chance to see just how good a well set up example is) They've all been wonderful cars to own and drive. (except the 6RS, which was the only 911 I've driven that I had little or no confidence in) See above.

If rumours are to be believed its going to be just under 991 GT3 speed for well under the price of a specced 991S.If it looks like the mock-ups, its going to look better than a 991 and it may even handle better.
My interest is piqued.

Anyway, agree we should get back on topic!
Well while we wait to see what will appear as a GT4 I am starting to put a DIY plan in place using my Cayman R pdk as a base.
Up to JZM next month for a half cage and harness, initial brake upgrade as a starter with Endless pads and a GT3 master cyliner to get a better pedal feel as an interim measure before the engine change then will review
Kicked off discussions with Ruf to put a 3.8 991 engine in with some potential tweaks to say 420-440bhp
Potentially leave body work as is though may carbon some panels
Will be interesting to see how it compares...
It may well take some PhD level man maths to square it off to any committee but it will have some stealth qualities
