Haha I need a link to that particular thread, I doubt MrDemon feared for his life on a trackday with loads of fat bald men!
Think it's here somewhere...http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=5&a...
Anyway, agree we should get back on topic!

I was doing geo's on cars at the age of 14 inc full corner weights and diff rebuilds and then racing said cars at national level :-)
1/10th may be :-p but it stands you well on which part does what and what one can adjust to fit how one wants.
What's your preferred corner weight strategy?1/10th may be :-p but it stands you well on which part does what and what one can adjust to fit how one wants.

If there was loads of people waiting by the car then thats really immature. Internet is the internet, when you meet people IRL you are polite and just chat about real world stuff...
I agree that you should be polite IRL. The thing is, if a few people who knew each other were meeting somebody they didn't know but they knew what car he had and wanted to catch-up, wouldn't you just go and wait by the car to meet the individual? I'm not sure that there's anything sinister in that. Anyway, I think it was an opportunity missed as I suspect that all would have discovered that they were all decent chaps after all and that Mr D is actually a good driver, not a professional but better than good chunk of us.So what is the current view?
3.8l NA flat six - seems very obvious
380BHP - was figure mentioned to me ages ago by one of the PDCs at Silverstone and seems to be reasonable
6 speed manual - straight from the GTS
CS package - can see it in some of the pics and vids from earlier in the year
I reckon they'll position the GT4 as the low tech, fun hi performance car and the GT3 as the car to buy if you want to be the the fastest and also have some fun.

Well while we wait to see what will appear as a GT4 I am starting to put a DIY plan in place using my Cayman R pdk as a base.
Up to JZM next month for a half cage and harness, initial brake upgrade as a starter with Endless pads and a GT3 master cyliner to get a better pedal feel as an interim measure before the engine change then will review
Kicked off discussions with Ruf to put a 3.8 991 engine in with some potential tweaks to say 420-440bhp
Potentially leave body work as is though may carbon some panels
Will be interesting to see how it compares...
It may well take some PhD level man maths to square it off to any committee but it will have some stealth qualities
Would it not be cheaper to buy a gen.1 cayman and do the conversion, saving the R for 'heritage'. Surely once you start improving on the R youve lost the ethos?Up to JZM next month for a half cage and harness, initial brake upgrade as a starter with Endless pads and a GT3 master cyliner to get a better pedal feel as an interim measure before the engine change then will review

why bring that up again a year on ?And your thoughts on what happened on track the same day when they thought this was my car ? waited for said Spyder to over take than hassle the bejeezus out of it
and even post a vid on you tube about it.

After being on the pit wall and viewing that , I did not want to then go and see a group of 5 lads waiting by my car it seemed pointless.
I just felt sorry the Spyder driver was forced to come in next lap and must have wondered what the **** was going on with these nutters.

I'm sorry to say but after viewing that video, the comment underneath it pretty much sums it up perfectly....and even post a vid on you tube about it.

"Whatever MrD has done, u were driving like a tool in my opinion if u didn't know the guy in the spyder's abilities"
....except I would say it doesn't matter what ability the person in the Spyder has. Shocking driving on the part of the person filming - whoever it is I hope they don't do that any more - and exactly the reason why I hesitated initially to take my GT3 on track in case someone thought it'd be funny to do something like that.

yes this seems the spec with GT3 steering also.

What 'ring time do you think they'll target? I reckon 7:40-ish - clear air between it and the current GT3 and Turbo and about the same as previous iterations of GT3.
ring is a BHP track though.I guess the GT4 will have CUP 2's on it which will help, I doubt a ring time will surface for the car.
