My advice is sound and I don't bullst ;-) I also don't suffer fools.
You will see when I post and ask questions from bull stters , people tend to then switch over to personal abuse as a get out, that's forums for you.
Ravon got hassle and stopped posting, as I say a great loss as he was tracking a GT4 while every one was still waiting for cars to arrive.
Well hopefully you'll sod off as well then Kenny…You will see when I post and ask questions from bull stters , people tend to then switch over to personal abuse as a get out, that's forums for you.

CDR+ (£1052 with Sound Package Plus, USB and DAB included as standard) + Phone prep (£446) = £1498
PCM (£2141), Sound package plus (£396), DAB (£324) + phone prep(£446) = £3307
So Navigation costs you an additional £1809 , which seems a hell of a lot.
What else does PCM give you??
For me, the difference between the CDR+ and Nav is £1485 (no phone prep). Does seem an awful lot for very little, just to protect a future resale and have it built into the centre console and main display. I am however still contemplating it...frustratingly!PCM (£2141), Sound package plus (£396), DAB (£324) + phone prep(£446) = £3307

Bump.. The GT4 does have a dry sump engine doesn't it???
it seems the clubsport does have a true dry sump although the road car does not. And the clubsport still has strut rear suspension despite Autocar/evo going on about Cup rear suspension. A friend is interested in it and has the brochure, have asked him to send it over..

Missus no help, she says just spec everything! Question is, to "Two-zone automatic climate control 573 £518.00" or not to....
Can £518 be justified simply have a press and forgot system, versus a little more tinkering to stabilise a temperature?
I am someone who's reluctant to spend money on options, but I would say yes in the case of the dual zone climate control. Can £518 be justified simply have a press and forgot system, versus a little more tinkering to stabilise a temperature?
I've also said yes to the PCM. This represents a first for me, I've never specified an optional sat nav before. I agree that it's poor VFM but I've justified it in my head on three grounds:
1. It will occasionally be useful (I'm not a fan of using a smartphone to do the navigating in a car)
2. It's a hard drive system, which means that I will be able to load lots of CDs into the car and thus not need to spec a CD autochanger or similar. I'm relatively old skool when it comes to music.
3. There's no BOSE option on the GT4. I would have spent money on it, had it been available.
So - PCM means I don't have to buy a CD autochanger, and 'no BOSE' has freed up some cash that I'd otherwise have spent. And at least I'm getting something that will be useful, some of the time.

Just got off the phone with Admiral, the girl i spoke to has categorically stated that in the event of a total write-off they will pay the full market value of the car at time of accident. They do not take into consideration the list price, price of options or any form of agreed value when policy was taken out.
Have you read the full policy to confirm? Just a suggestion, I'm insured through Porsche France so no knowledge of Admiral, but I wouldn't rely on verbal advice, however knowledgeable it sounded.I found this an interesting read so thought I'd share for those of us who don't yet know it all.

Oops, clubsport has the same integrated dry sump after all. Perhaps Porsche do reckon the road car can run with slicks after all!

Couldnt see any mention of the GT4 having the same dry sump system but to be honest there were far too many words to read and I got bored after the first few lineshttp://files2.porsche.com/filestore.aspx/Cayman-GT...

I specced 2 zone climate because my other cars have it,it's easier to adopt an existing habit rather than learn a new one ,besides the last thing you want to be doing in a car as involving as a GT4 is having to distract your attention to fiddle with temp and fan speeds which by the way need a surgeon's fingers as it's awkwardly situated in front of gearknob.Speccing options is not always about perceived value on cars like the GT4 but suitability.Conversely i did not spec cruise control as it is useless on our congested, poor drivers infested motorways. However if adaptive cc was an option i would have specced it from a safety point of view. Can £518 be justified simply have a press and forgot system, versus a little more tinkering to stabilise a temperature?
PS Same reason i specced auto wipers and auto dip mirrors.
One of the most important items for me to select was £477 headlight option I know how bad non xenon lights are on porsches from my spyder and yes the standard lights on the gt 4are I believe xenon but are less powerful hence no washers so didn't want to risk having inferior lights again!

Hah. I went straigt to the end where there normally have tech specs to avoid the guff.... Oddly enough in another newer (LA motorshow launch) brochure i received seems to explicitly state dry sump....which is in conflict with all the prior info. Perhaps intentionally meant to be confusing i suppose.itsybitsy said:

I chose not to spec PDLS as the ugly prominent front washer nozzles irked me.It also adds complexity with the swivelling motors and extra weight.I also dislike having washer fluid being sprayed over the bonnet when i least expect it.The standard black bi-xenoms look identical and offer dynamic range control and i can confirm has superb spread and brightness.Don't forget Porsche are true marketing geniuses in getting buyers to stump more cash for extras they don't need!.
