Same story at Swindon (Also Dick Lovett)-definitely no knowledge of extra builds for May/June or sooner.
I did suggest in a previous post that Porsche GB owned sites were being favoured-but shot down in flames ?
From what I understand, the 2 extra Jan slots that quite a few dealers had were the tail end of the first run.I did suggest in a previous post that Porsche GB owned sites were being favoured-but shot down in flames ?
There has since been an announcement, about 1 week ago that there are now more cars coming through for build Feb through to June to tie in with the start of the new 4 cyl cars that are I think starting production about then.
Quite a few sites had only 1 extra car but that was, as far as I know from speaking to OPC's because they had a high number of cars on the first run. Dealers that had say 4 or 5 cars first time round will get about the same again but not in all cases as depends on how many deposits they have in etc but are likely to get more than 1
The second run that was announced last week will probably be it unless a few more trickle through…
Thats my understanding of the situation.

Hah. I went straigt to the end where there normally have tech specs to avoid the guff.... Oddly enough in another newer (LA motorshow launch) brochure i received seems to explicitly state dry sump....which is in conflict with all the prior info. Perhaps intentionally meant to be confusing i suppose.
Very sensible! I'd be very surprised and dissapointed if the road going GT4 didnt have a dry sump system. Surely all those knowledgable Journo Chaps would have picked up on it by now if it didnt?... Then again...jackwood said:
I am having PPF. For the exact reason that if I have it done I won't have to worry about it.
Done the scuffy "beater" GT3 look. Thousands and thousands of stone chips from track and road trips to Scotland. Not doing that again, especially not on a shiny new car.
If you drive around in close convoy at speed with other cars with big sticky tyres, stone chips are impossible to avoid. You HAVE to have PPF if you want to prevent the front of your car looking like it's been sandblasted. If you live in the city and rarely get over 30mph or when you do you are normally driving on your own out of traffic, then you could probably justify not having it.
.
I agree with your analysis-PPF is a no brainer if you are buying and keeeping the car to use it in anger.Done the scuffy "beater" GT3 look. Thousands and thousands of stone chips from track and road trips to Scotland. Not doing that again, especially not on a shiny new car.

991 GT3 picked up bonnet chips on PDI test drive-only noticed when at Paintshield OPC had to repaint bonnet before car could be covered.
Had full front, roof leading edge, full doors, sills & rear wings and arches-car driven hard and unmarked.
Also have on my Speciale-similar coverage-4000 miles including "rally style close convoy very quick driving" in Scotland last April.--The bodywork is unmarked but I have between 80-100 stonechips on the screen----so it really does work.
PPF allows ownership without worries-albeit at a price of up to 3k.
So again only worth it if you are keeping and going to use your car as it was intended.

I agree completely - it enables me to use the car without worry thus adding greatly to my enjoyment. And the money is inconsequential because the car will still be worth more than I pay even with film.Being so anal the car will be transported to and from the ppf fitter.
Having seen how the Americans do it - I am also looking in to having the lights/mirrors/spoiler and trim removed and refitted so that the film is even more invisible.
Have to protect that PTS :-)

Mines deffo over £1k. I've not got the paperwork in front of me but sure it was around £1300. First year road tax was £850! Can anyone else confirm how much they paid for OTR (On The Road) charges??
Yes mine is £75873 and OTR is just over £77000 so about 1300 quid sounds rightBetter weather so just done a 100 mile round trip over Northumberland's quiet but still damp roads. I am glad to report:
No-one laughed at me for not having LWBs.
No excursions into ditches due to having Dunlops.
Didn't cause reflections to other drivers through having flat white paint and not CWM.
Didn't get lost despite no PCM.
Seriously though the most surprising aspect of the car to me is how easy it is to drive. Much less physical than GT3. Whether this is good or bad is a matter of opinion! Interior a great improvement on every other Porsche i've owned.

I got 100m in today as well . You couldn't get moved for GT4,s in Northumberland . No-one laughed at me for not having LWBs.

Well I'm certain on black wheels, leather, lwb, red seat belts, climate and carbon, doesn't leave much left before £70k, in fact, just £200 and that is without red stitching which I'm almost certain I'll pick!

I had 70k in mind. I've the same spec as you with gt silver, pcm and the phone prep added!

When is your Voodoo meant to be here as my original December build Spyder got the 10-12 week delay when I went Voodoo - Won't the paint protection null & void the factory paint warranty
It was originally November build but that got pushed back to January 12th because of buckets and PTS, since then it's inexplicably slipped to completion on March 1st. So delivery Mid March. paralla said:

I specced 2 zone climate because my other cars have it,it's easier to adopt an existing habit rather than learn a new one ,besides the last thing you want to be doing in a car as involving as a GT4 is having to distract your attention to fiddle with temp and fan speeds which by the way need a surgeon's fingers as it's awkwardly situated in front of gearknob.Speccing options is not always about perceived value on cars like the GT4 but suitability.Conversely i did not spec cruise control as it is useless on our congested, poor drivers infested motorways. However if adaptive cc was an option i would have specced it from a safety point of view.
PS Same reason i specced auto wipers and auto dip mirrors.
Hi Taffy - Cruise Control is a must - I use it to stop me speeding in build up areas - really useful PS Same reason i specced auto wipers and auto dip mirrors.

I'm collecting mine this weekend so add another one to the mix. I know of one other Voodoo Blue which should have landed this week as well. At this rate there'll be more GT4s in Northumberland than Mondeos!
You getting yours from Newcastle OPC? What colour, so I can keep a lookout.Fokker said:
