Ian have you been asked to sign a new vehicle order form yet?
No not yet, but I'm in no rush to firm up the order, as still pursuing a GT3RS (I can't justify both).

Loads of cars sell with no adds, my Gt3 and my R were both sold with zero adverts, what's to say I still have a GT4 and I did not sell for £115k straight away ?

I have had people pm me about cars being flipped but not to go public about it quite a few cars are changing hands under the radar.

I have an Audi TTS now and very happy with it, it even has dsg :-) 4wd and xenons great for winter :-).
My name is down on the Cayman RS let the rumours start here :-).

My est is 250 cars we will have to wait another 8 months to see how many, like wise one OPC having 15 cars seems crazy.

Days of £30k overs have gone IMO. But you should get £15k still if you want to flip it.
So either you still have your car or not? Why you insist on playing these silly games I don't know.

I have no plans on flipping, but is always nice to know if a car should hold strong value nether the less. I'm unsure if premiums will still be the case come June when mine is due to arrive!

Who knows what happens to values but if the cars are by and large changing hands under the radar then they will at least get into the hands of genuine owners who wont be interested in selling so values will then remain firm

I know of one which went for 30k profit 2 weeks ago. As you say, cars change hands behind closed doors...

I didn't appreciate that there were 34 dealers! My local dealer had 4 and I've spoken to a few other dealers that also had 4.
Looking at it again my bet would be 300 cars.

If there are already so many I would ask why there aren't more on the used market being flipped?
There are so many GT3's still for sale in caparison?
Assume lots are still waiting delivery / holding back for season to start : I bet there will be tons for through March / April / May - I may be wrong though - certainly won't be the first time smile

Please tell me you're kidding after the debacle we've just had on the Spyder vs. GT4 thread - what happened to your purist driving dynamics ethos ???

BTW - I have been told directly by DP that they have had an allocation of > 15 cars - there was no incentive for him to say this : in the context of the conversation it would have actually been an easier for him if he'd said the opposite - enjoy the Audi smile

May I add a little to the debate over deteriorating eyesight. PorscheGT4 is right about the fall-off in visual acuity but incorrect to attribute the deterioration to a reduction in pupil size, which only has a minor effect. Indeed, his eyesight began to deteriorate from around his mid-twenties but only now, in his mid-forties, is the change really noticeable.

The cause of his dysfunctional night vision, & it affects everyone as its a part of the ageing process, is a change to his dark adaptation curve. His eyes simply can't react quickly enough to drops in light intensity nor react as fully, & it's a progressive deterioration. Try this if you're over 45 years of age: walk into a dark room, from a well lit exterior, with someone twenty years younger: that person will adapt quicker & see much more detail in the dark than you. In addition, lenticular changes occur in later years further reducing light input to the retina. Smaller pupil size, cataracts & worsening dark adaptation are all age-related changes that effect ones night vision: factor in health issues, eye disease & hereditary conditions & you have even more reasons why "the eyes ain't what they used to be", as we age.

Therefore anyone over the age of forty-five should for safety reasons seriously consider any lighting up-grade offered for their beloved machines, for the above reasons. Certainly go for the best lights possible on a high performance machine like the Cayman GT4, rather than go anal on other more meaningless options.

Now why oh why didn't I think of that? Bugger. But sorry Phooy, a shed load of turbocharged carrots wouldn't help as its an aging process. Look in the mirror it's as plain as the wrinkles on your/everyone's face - it's a real bummer, isn't it?

Congratulations! What colour did you get? I haven't driven the GT4 either but I'm looking forward to playing with it. Aside from the next generation GT3/RS, the only 911 I'm interested in right now is the 911R which should be an amazing car.

Wrinkles?! I'm 39 and cover myself from head to toe in 'Creme de la Mer' every evening. Its why I couldn't afford to have PCCB's!

Couldnt see any mention of the GT4 having the same dry sump system but to be honest there were far too many words to read and I got bored after the first few lines
Hah. I went straigt to the end where there normally have tech specs to avoid the guff.... Oddly enough in another newer (LA motorshow launch) brochure i received seems to explicitly state dry sump....which is in conflict with all the prior info. Perhaps intentionally meant to be confusing i suppose.
This doc gives some good technical data the GT4:
http://www.ebsracing.com/design/design-ebs-racing-...

Though this quote seems a little strange.:
".....the Sport Chrono Package additionally includes dynamic transmission mounts."

Here's what it says about the oil system (which certainly doesn't sound like a dry sump):

the road gt4 for sure, no dry sump yeah. What's a bit strange is I have 2 Porsche brochures on the gt4 clubsport that say different things, one has the same integrated dry sump as per the road car and the other just states dry sump. So who knows.... As you did note re dynamic mounts the Porsche manuals are far from accurate all the time as well!

Why would people pm you about sales the may or may not have undertaken?

If youve flipped yours already, wont that black list you on further models?

Great posting & I completely agree.
I just turned 30 and already notice that my previously exceptional (as tested before joining the military) night vision is not 100% what it used to be 12 years ago. Had it checked out at my eye specialist and he said it's normal. I reckon the astigmatism doesn't help but Xenon or LED headlights are a must have on every car for me.

Brushed Anthracite Aluminium with leather . I think this was only a couple of hundred from memory . Think it was the cheapest option other than the standard silver . Spent what I saved on stitching and carbon on the cage . Pretty pleased with it . Probably not the best photos in the garage at night ....

As the carbon optional extra is nothing more than film (apparently?), has anyone considered leaving the standard silver and having it wrapped? Might be a bit extreme, and don't know if the trims come off, but surely a lot cheaper than the £1k cost?

That looks great.
So much more classier than Edam stitching and fake carbon, imo.
