I know of a yellow car with same spec at gt4's at a sports car dealer up north. Lots of people are flipping on the sly including gt4 I reckon.

Ask him to post a pic of the car outside his house with a piece of fruit on the roof.

Name calling

all lies, as normal you then get a few sheep on the band wagon backing you up.

sad really esp as no sorry by you or mdianuk the real TROLLS on here it seems on a witch hunt !

well lets move on I see no sorry coming from you guys, mdianuk inc, shame really and both still doing personal attacks today even !

I get called out to prove with a pic which I do !. yet still you 2 are Trolling !
I never started any thing and certainly not a witch hunt because as I have said before I have backed your corner when the gt boys ganged up on you in the past!It was never my intention to be nasty and certainly no name calling and if you feel I have been I apologise I was merely stating the fact about the whole allocation fiasco and of persons purely obtaining a car for financial gain at the expense of true enthusiast and that some have bought more than one new porsche whereas others the gt4 is their first new porsche!

Last one from me, fair play on proving you still have the car, which you didn't have to do (and probably shouldn't have - I never wanted proof), but no apology, I see no reason, I was merely questioning why you'd give the suggestion of selling your car and replacing it already if you hadn't. That is forum trolling, but hey, we all have our vices and at least you still have your fabulous car. On we go...

Looks good though. If I get one I may go for some flames up the side, rather than the GT3 ones out the back...
wrong way round ? Don't think so..

Here is the corner weight data as delivered from factory. Its quite a high spec car so quite heavy.

Total weight was 1422Kg. That includes a full tank of fuel, no driver.

LF 321kg RF 312

LR 388.5 RR 400.5

Geometry was spot on the recommended factory settings.
That's quite heavy. Do you have the clubsport pack as well so that's inclusive of harnesses/rollcage?
I was struck by the same. Would be interesting to see the spec (cage, etc)..and also spec of the officialy quoted 1340kg car (I suspect no cage, no a/c, no extras, etc)
Also wondering how this compares to the 996 GT3 CS (official spec and std road spec)...wouldn't mind weighing my own 996 GT3 CS to compare.

Just a poor attempt at humour complete with smiley. Personally I prefer the one with the apple as it would leave passers by with more questions than answers.

I also don't think many of the OPC's are that bothered, as long as they are re-sold via them. They get two bites at the cherry after all.
Ok, you are probably right, but to be fair, I was discussing the possibility that sales are taking place under the radar so not to jeopardise the customers relationship with the dealer, when in fact in the instance of not liking the car, surely the best option would indeed to let the OPC have a second bite of the cherry. I know this to be the case, following some interesting discussions I had with my OPC trying to get into a GT3RS.
Ah, ok. Just re-read it and see what you were getting at.

The whole thing is pretty tricky. Just seems to be an aweful lot of cars getting flipped. Very annoying for those that can't get cars.

Don't forget the bigger tank! What's that, 20kg extra?

For reference my 996.2 GT3 with Tequipment cage and buckets is 1429kg with 3/4 tank and no driver.

Corner weights are a little off. Definitely room for improvement.

I'm using Invisifilm in Manchester. Using Xpel with full front, bonnet, wings etc, mirrors, full sills up to and over rear wings and side scoops.

Uncovered panels covered in Crystal Serum.

According the manual, the car width is ~182cm (body) and ~198cm (inc mirrors). Can anyone confirm if the mirrors can be manually folded and if so, what the width is then (just body width)? Don't suppose someone can measure the width of the car with the drivers door opened to the first latch...need to know if it will fit, the Cayman R did, but the GT4 is bigger...damn integrated garage!!!

The larger fuel tank is 54l to 64l (not 90l as per the gt3, not available for RHD cars anyway), that's 7 kg.

Interesting re your 6 gt3 weight as well. I always thought that it would be lighter than that tbh!

There's a guy over on rennlist who weighed his GT4 at 1430kg; if memory serves me right it was specced with clubsport( inc harnesses and fire extinguisher),steel brakes,PCM,air con,no PDLS and full 64l tank.In comparison a german magazine weighed their test car at 1379kg specced as above but without clubsport pack but with PCCB,LWBS,PDLS and full 55l tank.
The clubsport pack is a very heavy option(27kg),PDLS(7kg) and the reason both Preulinger and WR both said they would not spec it !.

When my 987 Spyder had its mot last year it came back with its corner weights which were pretty much equal each side per axle with slightly more weight to the rear (something like 320kg front corners and 380 kg rear) but as I no longer have the car or the paperwork unable to post correct figures. It also weighed in at about 1400 kg with half a tank of fuel but not sure if it had a driver in! It had folding buckets but Aircon and radio added back in which accounts for 15 kg over a stripped out car!

Personally I think it's pretty impressive from Porsche that they can create a very similar car in theory to the 996 GT3 and at a far more advanced spec level and still be lighter.

In the rest of the automotive world the last 10 years has seen equivalent cars pile on hundreds of kg's.
