NO buckets

a GT car with no buckets is well ... not a GT car :-)

may as well save £25k and get a GTS :-p
Some say a 'GT' car without a 'motorsport' engine isnt a GT car either

Can someone confirm for sure that the "Audio system CDR Plus incl. Sound Package Plus P25 £1,052.00" which includes USB, allows for an iPhone to be connected and controlled via the screen itself, as the blurb states "Functions are operated using the controls on the connected device itself", which isn't the same thing! I'm not paying £1k for USB if it doesn't hand the control of the device over the the main screen!

Ian, this may be controvertial and I say this very much in terms of advice offered and not wanting to annoy you but i really think you should spec PCM for the sake of a few quid extra.
I know its an old system but it does work well and having a sat nav will 100% make a difference to resale. If you're planning on keeping it then cool but you try and sell a Cayman R now without a sat nav and you'll struggle more-so than if it had one.
I know a few used sports car dealers, all good guys and they will all tell you the same thing. For an extra grand or so its worth having. You can also spec online services which is free and this gives realtime updates on traffic situations etc that works really well in my Cayenne.

You may disagree and thats cool but it will be harder to sell on...

Fully understand that (didn't answer my question though lol), and whilst I do agree that it may help the number of potential buyers, I'm buying for me, and it is all too easy to pick options that suit the next guy; not to mention that £2.5k for satnav is absolute madness (even though £1k for USB/DAB is too!).

5 days into mine and an absolutely in love.
Noise, seats (buckets), handling (Cups 2), gearbox.
Last fast car I had was a Strad - the GT4 is quicker and faster A to B, just missing the V8 howl smile

What no spec? no Nav? if you are going to spend 90k why not find another 10k and get one with a proper spec.
Sorry I was in a rush at work, full specs are as follows:

Agate Grey Met
Black interior with platinum stitching
Mobile phone prep
Sound package plus
Smoking package
Seat heating
Sport chrono pack
64 litre tank
Bi-Xenons headlights
Rear wing supports in black
Porsche ceramic composite brakes
PCM
So used ones are already heading back down towards list price...scratchchin
When most cars seem to be circa £100k upwards why would you market £10k cheaper unless you were desperate for the cash!! You can always negotiate downwards but not up! The spec looks ok for someone who wants agate grey and no buckets, has there not been a couple of cars sold with sports seats for the £100k mark!

If you didn't spec this at time of ordering, can this be "switched on" by the dealer? Not sure if we ticked that box or not...

Interesting - it doesn't say that in the configurator and I have specc'ed it on my car, but if this is true sounds like a no-brainer to have!

Description of "online services" in the configurator is as follows:

Integration of online functions into PCM by aha Radio app. Available for iPhone® and Android smartphones. Functions include: internet radio and personalised online music streaming, news feeds, podcasts and audiobooks, local-based content supporting text-to-speech (e.g. filling station prices, parking availability information), weather information, online Point of Interest search with subsequent direct selection as navigation destination, Facebook and much more. The aha Radio app is available free of charge from iTunes and Google Play® (Android Market). Note: For use with iPhone® the optional Universal audio interface is needed (standard). For use with Android®-Smartphones the optinal Mobile phone preparation or the optional Telephone module is needed. Use of online services with the optional telephone module with cordless handset requires activation of HFP mode in PCM

Really? I took mine out and replaced it with the shelf as something that was more useful. I seriously struggle to accept the argument that says that a sat nav is a deciding factor on a car that is now 4 years old. The sat nav design is older than the car - about 5-6 years at least and compared to a modern Tom Tom or a Tom Tom app on a mobile, why would you bother with something with the resolution and load times of a ZX Spectrum?

I bought my R 12 months ago.

I immediately ruled out all cars without PCM. Just couldn't ever buy a car of note, without the Sat Nav.

I certainly wouldn't buy a GT4 without PCM either.

I guess it's an integration argument vs. Ugly wires and ancillary on the dash / window - IMHO I would always prefer to buy a car with Nav (all things being equal) As always though , no right or wrong with this - just choices smile

LWB's would have been nice, but at £90K I think you picked yourself up a bit of a bargain.

Nice one.
