All I know is this current demand for NEW and the crazy prices that go with it are a little.....well.....crazy! Where has all this money come from? Maybe I am just poor but if I had a spare £40k to spunk up a wall I would be buying another property and renting it out!
I might be in for a whipping here but I think that Porsches in some guises are a bargain. Take my Cayenne bought 2 months ago... £50000 base price plus a lot of options came to 65k. Its a phenomenal piece of kit and next to a range rover or even a RR sport, its a bargain with 55% residual over 3 years so you're not going to lose all your money like you are on a BMW 7 series or ML class, RR and many many other luxury cars.
Same goes for the GT4, its a fooking bargain so at an inflated price I actually think its worth 90 - 100k all day long.
What would you rather have for 73k, a lightly spec'd GT4 or a boat with oars?

Excellent, I turned my 350z into a race car which I still use - awesome bit of kit, I wont be able to afford to keep the GTS when the gt4 is closer to arriving so will have to swap but a lovely problem to have, the manual gets is a lot of fun I think you did buy my GTS-carmine red, 1200 miles, manual
I loved that car and hope you are enjoying it.
Will you keep it when you get the GT4?

Mine has now landed at the dealership but won't be PDI'd for a few weeks yet, as I collect it on 9th Jan. I'll start with the default medium-medium for the ARBs but want to make sure that everything else is exactly as it should be, so I can form a true impression.

Mine's being PDI'd right now. I submitted geo/ARB settings, but was told by senior engineer to leave for now until the suspension settles. He suggested revisiting after run-in (no additional charge later).Do you know if a full wheel alignment takes place at the dealership as part of the PDI process? About 6 years ago I had a VERY big moment in my Cayman S, accelerating up to speed along a curving sliproad in the damp. Electronics fully on, not even in Sport (my car has SC) and not even at a properly high speed (I'd taken that curve many times before in the damp, and at speeds higher than I was doing this time). Took me 3 goes to catch it, if there had been another car remotely near me on the sliproad I would have probably hit it. I would like to think I've got a fair idea what I'm doing behind the wheel (don't we all), and the car hasn't thrown a similar wobbly before or since, in 88k miles.

|http://thumbsnap.com/zRVWoIpK[/url]Just back from PEC day.... absolutely fantastic what an amazing car... drove the hello preproduction all say so over 5hrs in the car, LWBS are very comfortable and the car as expected a joy to drive. As a complete novice GT driver it was quite an experience and made the most of all the tracks and the different circuits. Staff were very good as was the catering. Then drove the 3hrs home in my GR GT4 and another 3hrs in the LWBS were not an issue the car is a great drive... Mine has the Dunlops and the air was cold and rain very bad but the car was stable even with lots of surface water there was no feeling of problems and car responded well in the rain... now at 500 miles in mine and over 100 on the PEC car and the grin just keeps getting bigger. However make sure you spec some sort of zircon even with lowish outside temperatures the PEC car (No Aircon) got very hot and steamy whereas mine on the drive home was a great place to be sat with the rubbish weather outside
Got a response from another known GT4 independent dealer. They believe the market will slow slightly and existing premiums won't last, but still expect strong residuals. However, you can tell they don't specialise entirely in Porsches because they said the must have options are cage, heated race seats and sports chrono

why do you keep talking to odd companies about resale ?Have you decided not to keep it now you have finally got a slot ?

Mine is also a 2006 which I have had almost since new (ex demo) - spent 4k miles being beaten around by test drivers and the other 27k miles at the redline by me. Lots of fun, too many mods to list, mostly carbon everywhere, upgraded diff/suspension/brakes and some engine tweaks and many other bitsI agree the 350 is a superb car.
