Silverstone tomorrow, BBC Weather says it's going to be wet all day, thinking about installing the spare set of 20" Spyder wheels from my previous 981S, equipped with a good set of P-Zero's. Any thoughts, or words of wisdom ?
I threw the Pirellis away as they had very poor traction in damp/wet conditions, particularly out of The Loop and Luffield. I now run MPSS. See you there I'm in 7A.Interesting ! I thought the P-Zero's were pretty good on the 981S, and found the Cup 2's a little lacking in the wet on my last day at Silverstone ? Anyway I've changed them over now, so we'll have to see, probably all in my head, but I was surprised when in the GT4 Autocar Road Test, the Exige V6 was 9 seconds quicker around the MIRA Wetgrip circuit than the GT4 ( in the wet ) ? See you tomorrow, hopefully in a GT4 ?
Can someone that has specced phone prep help me understand the options. Is 'Mobile phone preparation' basically a means of connecting your phone to the PCM via bluetooth, relying on the phones signal, but using the internal car speakers and mic, versus the 'Telephone module' which lets you insert a sim car in to effectively a built-in phone, using an external type aerial?
Is the 'Mobile phone preparation' typically enough? Can you connect your phone via wire, or is it bluetooth only? I suppose you could use USB to keep it charged, as bluetooth is a battery killer.
Have I got that right? I never use my phone, but some suggest it is a key option as these cars are quite often being used for road trips and I might fancy the same!!!

You are correct, mobile phone prep is sufficient for most people. Is the 'Mobile phone preparation' typically enough? Can you connect your phone via wire, or is it bluetooth only? I suppose you could use USB to keep it charged, as bluetooth is a battery killer.

I was told by my dealer that the telephone signal would be better with the full installation ??
I'm sure that will be because the signal uses an antenna outside of the car, versus using the phones own antenna within it, but can't see it being much of an issue. May be wrong about this though, only learnt about it (and added, £500, grrrr) today.Fokker said:
