Love this pic from Iwan Evans in mid Wales. Not sure what your name is on here Iwan but you posted a few pics on here when you first had your car but I can't find them now.
You'll know the A470 well which is my stomping ground and a superb bit of tarmac North to South.
My car will look identical when it arrives soon.
Top guy, can pedal too. He didn't spec 'cruise control' ....what on earth is the world coming to.You'll know the A470 well which is my stomping ground and a superb bit of tarmac North to South.

I was told by my dealer that the telephone signal would be better with the full installation ??
He is correct. The extra £80 or so for full install effectively allows the phone to use the ariel of the car. This serves two benefits, the first being better reception, but second is that the phone is not filling the inside of the car with radio waves. It also has sim slot I believe.
Telephone module and Mobile phone preparation
The optional quadband GSM telephone module offers convenience and excellent reception. By inserting a SIM card directly into the integral SIM card reader of CDR Plus or PCM, calls can be made using the hands-free facility. For even more convenience, the Bluetooth® capability of a mobile phone can be used to make calls via the SIM Access Profile (SAP).
Once automatic pairing is complete, the mobile phone’s aerial is switched off to conserve battery charge and the phone operates via the car aerial. Depending on the mobile phone model, this gives access not only to the numbers on the SIM card, but also to the phone’s internal memory.

No your phone will link via bluetooth just the same as normal prep. If you phone supports some posh protocol (my Samsung does, Apples don't!) then when it connects it turns off the aerial on the phone and uses the car one even though the phone is in your pocket. Essentially it uses the car to make the call but uses the SIM wirelessly via Bluetooth...
That has left me even more confused, as there is a 'Mobile phone preparation' option, a 'Telephone module' option and a 'Telephone module with Bluetooth® handset' option which requires you to select 'Telephone module'!!! I know little about phones and Bluetooth etc!1)Phone Preparation - just a bluetooth connection so you have handsfree in the car, also basic features like phone book etc can be accessed. Car still uses your phone aerial etc
2)Phone Module - EITHER use your phone connected via bluetooth as above and if it can use the simfree bluetooth profile it will use the CAR aerial for better reception and it will save your battery. It also has a sim slot which you can put a sim in and you are back to old school car phones and then you could have your phone through Bluetooth and the sim in the car working.
3)Phone module with bluetooth handset - slightly confusing but it is the module with a handset in the centre console. TOTALLY POINTLESS as it would be illegal in the uk to use and frankly everyone will use their phone rather than the integrated sim slot.
Basically option 2) gives you better range and battery if you use it with your phone over bluetooth.

Thanks Fish, bit clearer now. Think I'll stick with Phone Prep only, don't need a sim card slot. This unfortunately is entirely a ticked option for my missus and for the next owner in a few years time 1)Phone Preparation - just a bluetooth connection so you have handsfree in the car, also basic features like phone book etc can be accessed. I drive it hence I want these options.
Have you driven in the light damp ? I bet you have :-) so you use your wipers as you cannot see within 3 miles.
same with washers on lights, give it 5 miles and you lose about50% of their power due to dirt, been there on the side on roads spitting on my lights trying to get home after work it's no fun.
like wise, I don't want to pull over on the motorway to say to the mrs, I'll be 15 minutes late hold dinner a while. (I had to stop to clean my lights lol )
And last with all these hi spec camera's I want to get to track day without points if I need to use a motorway, cruise just works esp on the M1 for 20 miles at 53 mph.
NO BRAINER options all 3.
cannot see why people would NOT have them bar trying to skimp on spec, or just forgot to spec them and now need a reason not to have them !
I would love to see the reasons NOT to have those 3 options and peoples thoughts why unless people are only ever going to use them in the day, when dry and 100% never take a call ?
Yeah, yeah. And next you'll be telling us that's why you didn't buy a 918 Spyder.. because you can't have Headlamp Wash Have you driven in the light damp ? I bet you have :-) so you use your wipers as you cannot see within 3 miles.

Honestly mate, I think you'd of been better with a GTS. Are you really a Porsche enthusiast?

Kin ell Demon - don't you ever just stop and re read what you write before pressing 'post'
For years you've been banging on about 'lightweight', 'purity' this that and the other and the moment you add unnecessary options (and thus weight) you deem them to be must haves.
Make your mind up - you're fast becoming the Minister of Forgotten What I've Previously Said Which Is Normally a Load of Bollix
If you can't help spouting dirge at least stop contradicting yourself!
lol, and indeed, imo...
Agree. Type of person you would avoid down the pub. For years you've been banging on about 'lightweight', 'purity' this that and the other and the moment you add unnecessary options (and thus weight) you deem them to be must haves.
