Just driven 550 miles today over a wide mixture of roads between Oxon, the end of Cornwall and then up north. My car has now covered 1300 miles and I am using more of the power now and 6k rpm. Very very pleased with it. My face hurts from smiling too much...
Observations. The LWBs are seriously comfortable - big surprise that I was not feeling any pain after 9 hours at the wheel ( in 2 stints), especially as I have a collapsed disk. The car is feeling run in now and comes alive when the engine comes on cam about 4K rpm. Noise good as well. The clonking from the suspension evident in the first 200 miles has now gone. Downside is the stereo. I have the best sound system on offer (PCM and stereo plus?) but I miss the depth and power of the systems in my other cars, especially since the GT4 is quite noisy at speed and a bit of music volume is required! I have Dunlops which coped well in the wetter moments but don't like standing water - no surprise there though. As the day went on I gained confidence leaning on these tires in the damp having been quite cautious initially. Still thinking of switching to Cup 2s but would like to hear comparative views between these and the Dunlops. High speed stability is great and I reckoned I could sense the aero working. Certainly looking in the rear view mirror in the rain the swirl of downforce on the spray kicked up was very noticeable. On smaller roads this car is incredibly nimble and composed - it changes direction without any hesitation. On faster sweeping A roads the ride smooths out and the car is simply majestic in the way it eats the miles. I have PCCBs which are very strong but I have no reference point to compare them with steels.
I returned 23mpg on Shell 99 octane. Given that I am still being relatively gentle with it, I seriously wonder how anyone thinks 30+ is possible!

Agree about the stereo ,car is very noisy but I've never really found any of the Porsche sound systems to my liking ,good job the engine sounds decent.
Also the mpg , I Agree 30mpg not possible .
agree people want to aim for £30k over list imo
which on a car with PTS and PCCB and CS can make them not look like good value for the guys who spent >£85k list as £115k is a tall order.
A £75k nice speced car with £30k added is still ok value imo.
CS just seems the flippers choice, but 1st owners and keepers tended not to buy CS cars, so I have no idea why people are saying CS is the better seller, my OPC only sold 1 cs car from 7 odd, people don't really want CS pack imo, only forum junkies who hype them up ;-).
of course only imho ;-)

You know that all Porsche GT cars with CS sell quicker and at a greater premium than those without. There's no fighting against it, It's a FACT. of course only imho ;-)

Sorry but i disagree with that completely going on previous generations of GTs I'd expect CS & LWB cars to trade better/quicker than cars with shiny bits and PCM 4-5 years down the line. If you're flipping, why would you throw big bucks at the build with no guarantee of getting the premium? Gassing Station | Porsche General | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
