2001, 85k miles, £32,995 on a private sale!

see ad on PH here:

http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/p...

"Appreciating asset, better than your ISA and a vast amount of car for the money.
Priced to sell; we all know what these are going to be worth one day and the prices are rising steadily - I'm buying a yacht so could do with the cash."

smile

I realize they're in demand at present and prices are holding firm but?
Perhaps the 3 and the 2 are the wrong way round smile

"Priced to sell" hmmmm

Looks in excellent condition but my ISA doesn't deduct 3-4k before adding interest

The seller is probably just testing the market. It is free to advertise on PH so if someone offers £30k then the seller would be rubbing his/her hands.

Its not that expensive its lot of car for around 30k.
The seller has taken the trouble, to find a nice location for the photos.
Unlike some people's adverts out on the street no effort at all is made.

If someone is looking for one, would be worth a look I would think?

Looking around at the market, they are going for that price.
If I was looking for a one, would go have a look. However happy with what I have for now.

As with most car what you think its worth, and what you get may not always be the same?

It's a silly advert - the car looks good but why state you have no idea if the cd works because you never use it? Stick a CD in and see! And for that money I'd change the front tyres.

Plus:

"Very rarely driven in the wet as we live in the country."

What does this mean?

Wet in country = mud, so would need to be washed... I guess!

Needs washing anyway as apparently the paint is like oil

All the bla bla is pretty pointless, just one question needs to be asked.

Why buy this one when lower mileage and later cars are available for less money from a dealer?

Low mile cars are not necessarily better though.
Sure the car is over priced and good luck with the sale and yes the advert in terms of wording but the pics are great, car looks lovely IMO.
Buy on condition.

What you said yes

1) Is service book stamped every 12 months, and who with?
2) Is there 1 or 2 folders full of invoices for work, again, who did the work?
3) Colours interior / exterior.

The nmileage.........for me anyway.smile

Sure agree 100% but you could have assumed/inferred "all else being the same".

Buy the same car for less money.

The only thing wrong with the car is the price and that's the whole point of the thread.

Not so sure if you compare the silly air-cooled prices such as 993 Turbo's for example, in relative terms its a lot of car for the money.......
How many cars available with those miles?
supply and demand and all that.

Edited to state I wouldn't pay that but that's beside the point

+1 Buy on condition, I looked at many low mile cars needed mega money spent on them.

It shows effort to sell the car, unlike some people on a street road outside a lock up etc.

As for price each to their own everybody wants a good deal.
