Wow, that's the biggest load of crap I've heard in a long time lol
why, look at 996 prices ;-)

people want VERY OLD stuff, but on the whole people don't really want 5 to 10 year old stuff unless it's GT spec or LTD run cars.
While 997.2 price have been a bit firmer the yare still half the price of the car when new and 996 are 10k
Not what you call a investment.

but you can man maths it if you like.

But half price after 5 years is fantastic compared to most cars on the used market. Investment no, but holding value well.

not many people want older cars, people want newer faster cars that do more Mpg.
Or cars they can buy on a 3 year PCP

unless it's a Ltd run car older cars will drop even faster once the news cars are out.

Exactly. A lot of people want an 'analogue' car, with a manual gearbox, minimal driver aids and performance that can be accessed and enjoyed on the road. Some probably hope they will see some capital protection rather than the usual depreciation.

The best examples of the earlier cars are small in number, so good ones will be sought after.

Having said that - there is a lot of 'mutton dressed as lamb' - so caveat emptor
