Hello to all, been looking at this site for years, just never got round to joining. I had a 997 C4S for a while but always wanted the 997TT, so I have just pulled the pin and jumped on a 2008 997 Turbo Manual in GT silver, with 33k miles, full OPC history etc, very well speced, only got it today and love it already. Is there any thing I should be aware of to check regular other than oil, tyres etc ? Does anyone know how to identify which Dension gateway is which, as I have no instructions but have managed to play USB flash drive music and bluetooth my phone, any other info appreciated on these systems ? Boost gauges, mine only does 0.8 bar or 1.0 bar in sport, I am guessing these indications are just approx, as it goes like stink ?? Also, is it just me or do Mezger engined manual cars appear to be rising in value ? I looked for about 6 months for the right car, and even in that time they seemed to be on the up ? Maybe my search criteria was just getting fussy and it appeared that way. Anyhoo, nice to be here, and nice to meet any like minded petrol heads. cheers for now.

Just sold my 2008 GT silver Turbo cab man with chrono and ceramics, just had time wasters all the time and the car was mint, having bought from rsj sports 1300 miles ago.

The car was like brand new with 39k miles but just got time wasters, first serious person actually bought it, albeit at a knocked down price.

Hi Wayne
Congratulations on your Turbo, it's a gorgeous car. I used to have a Dension Gateway 500 and that's the most popular one for this sort of car. They upgraded to a Gateway 500S later to add a couple of features and (I think) to integrate bluetooth into the main box.

The unit if you check it should give up its model number. I mounted mine in the front boot but some people put them behind the PCM. I played music main from a USB stick but come back if I can help any more.

As for what to check, although I've never owned a TT the same will apply to most 997s apart from the extras. Sorry, can't bee any more specific on that but for sure as long as I've owned a Porsche it's worn more tyres and drunk more petrol than anything else I've owned. That's the way it goes.

Hi, yours was the one on ebay at 45500(with a few RSJ pics in advert ?), I spoke to you also, but I think you were not keen on a 335D BMW, so I kept it in the end, well done on the sale though. PS. what did you take in the end ? No disrespect whats so ever meant, but i think cabs struggle a little more, especially in Novemeber, so maybe a good result eh.

Thanks for info mate, I cant see a unit anywhere, but will have a good poke around tomorrow, from what I can see, theres a small box in glove box with a blue LED, a switch, two phono jacks and a USB ? Petrol and tyres is ok, so far over 3 days and about 300 miles, average is about 24 mpg with some spirited and some sedate driving, very impressed, seems no worse on fuel than my C4S, but its much quicker, also, seems a little more planted though bumpy corners, C4S seemed more front end bobbly in faster sweepers. I think it may be a keeper, especially as manuals are getting thin on the ground in gen 1 guise. cheers again

That may be it in the glovebox. Hope it works for you.
