For so many years the upgrade from 996 GT3 Mk2 to 996 GT3RS was around £18-20K.

I thought about it so many times and I just couldn't justify the additional spend just for that `RSness`...

But now with the benefit of hindsight... loser

I actually preferred the 996 gt2 to a gt3 rs - don't believe the hype smile

...in the grand scheme of other historic/valuable/reverred Porsches, I feel the 996 RS has been undervalued in the past and will continue to show a robust trajectory.

Once upon a time, you would see many at a track day and perhaps we were losing a few. However, now most of them are kept away from anything too dangerous....a bit of a pity, but then more will survive too.

Blimey. I just rebuilt the engine on my non-RS to go racing next year. I must be one of the few who actually doesn't want his car's value to rise....

Has anyone actually viewed the JZM 6RS? It looks like a good example on paper so wondering if anyone saw any issues as its been on sale a while.

I was at JZM last Saturday for the PCGB GT3 meeting. It was great to see 25 GT3s of all varieties there in late November on a day of heavy rain. All cars in JZMs showroom looked good to my inexpert eye.

I'm looking for a 996.2 GT3 or Sagaris at the moment and not many GT3s about for sale so I can see why prices are going mad.

Assuming the 6RS is quite similar to my previous 6GT3 Mk.2 then I'm with you. 6GT2 is absolutely my favourite car to date.

For what type of use?
Both are great cars, but I can imagine have different sweetspots. I have hardly ever seen any 6GT2s on track days (for example), though you do see one at the ring from time to time

Do you have any pics?

Could you post them on the 996GT3-Sagaris thread below so we don't derail this thread,

Thanks

A couple of points;

Interest rates are going to stay the same for at least the short term future, the bursting of the bubble won't happen until they rise.

There is absolutely no way of implementing CG tax on used or classic cars so you can still cash out tax free.

They ain't making any more.

The madness will continue. Anyone who has sold one in the last 12 months has noodles for brains-they are only going one way and if you bow out at the right time one of these is going to make your financial year!

wink

The sentiment/trend favours and the strong hands will soon be passing on to weak hands.
