You know if you think about nos of these made and 2.7 RS and then add in formula for how capable the 6 RS is won't be long before they pass their older brother in value. Ade that was a fecking cheap car you bought. Well done smile

2.7 RS was the first air cooled I ever drove (not true actually had a 83 911 turbo for a week but that doesn't count as sold it after a few weeks as i could not get on with it). Amazing how for a 43 year old car how modern it feels. Immediately went and bought the best 3.2 Carrera Sport Coupe I could find after driving the RS as I cannot part with £500k for good RHD 2.7 RS and as a driving experience its not worth that to me anyway although one day they will truly be in the stratosphere when collectors realise how important car it is. Its actually a cheap classic for the pedigree it has. When we have some nice weather you're more than welcome to borrow my 3.2 Carrera for a weeks or so as long as you promise to write detailed review about it. I know you haven't got on with the ones you've driven.

Silly prices. The car is in danger of becoming a relic. Has the world gone mad??!

On saying that the 6RS is my personal favourite 911.

not really. arguably the ultimate RS based on pureness/ability/numbers combination. has literally everything going for it. looks purposeful too with narrow body and lw philosophy .....

real no nonsense car as close to the cup cars as one can ever get to. Everything after it is a compromise.

I thought it was a dog, a K9? Understeery and badly set up etc etc. It will never be worth anything because of its looks.

6RS- can someone explain why RHD cars are cheaper than the LHD examples, when the opposite is true for every other RS?
The 996RS has the highest proportion of RHD cars of all GT3s (140 in total so just over 20% of production {mostly UK but that also includes Aussie, South African, etc..}). Consequently this means that the LHD 996RS is the rarest of all left hand drive GT3s (both numerically and by proportion of production) and left hook is the biggest market for them. For most other GT3s the proportion of right hook is well below 10% (the only exception being the 991). For contrast, the UK got only 4.5% of the RS 4.0 production of 600, so those are very rare and thus bonkers money.

Make sense?

For a bit more perspective, only 120 of the 2256 997.2 GT3s were UK cars and only 87 of the 1600 997.2RSs - this helps to explain the values going a bit mental of late. People started to realise that not only are they not making any more, but in UK spec there weren't that many to begin with. All of these numbers also ignore write offs and cars exported to collections never to be seen again and so on too...

And you'll need to spend £20k getting it set up by your own personal F1 team.

This is fun! biggrin
