I know the 986 boxster holds around 9 litres of oil and like all porsches of the era takes a while to fully warm up.

Am I likely to damage or prematurely wear it if I do my daily 11 min commute if I respect the coldness and keep the revs below 3k?

Ive done it for years in other cars but they've all had around half the oil and warm up a touch quicker. Not that I've thrashed them either...

Yes as cmoose says it should be fine. A good longish run now and again and an oil change at least once a year will help reduce oil contaminates.

It'll get proper drives at least twice a week so no problem there. Hope to join the 'poverty pork' club soon.
