The only Porsche which will beat the speciale and aperta on all counts (apart from cost) is the 918. Porsche need that mid engined flat 8 car to get near ferrari again in terms of desirability.

The RS will be great value for money but comparing the car to the 458 s will not be a fair fight as the 458s is a much more desirable car. Lap times don't quantify the canyon like gap ferrari have opened.
Really ? Not sure I agree with this - I had to choose between a 458 spider and a bog standard GT3 - I genuinely preferred the GT3 and I'm now a very happy owner of the said car. I realise your comment was related to an RS vs a 458 S - but if I felt that way about the normal GT3 , I can't imagine I'd feel that different comparing the RS to the Speciale - The 458 just felt synthetic to me - Like an amazing looking girlfriend who turned out to be was as dull as fk - whereas the GT3 although not quite as sexy , is still really hot , but great fun too smile

Very true....and whilst I love the 458........if grip, noise, practicality, usability, 'exclusivity' (by lower numbers), subtlety and the obvious affordability are high on your list then the GT3 is way way more 'desirable'.

More chance it will fit the garage too......hehe
Excellent point re garage squeezability - I can get my GT3 into my garage - 458 , too lardy - ergo the GT3 is a better car - end of ....... smile

That is a valid point. It was one of the reasons I didn't get a 430.

If it's a single garage they will still fit! Ok, you cant drive it in as you cant get out but if the ground is level it's easy enough to line up and push the car in...

Where there's a will and all that biggrin

I passed up on one mainly due to a change of circumstances (took early voluntary retirement) but it was also down to not being able to open the doors once in the garage. That is something I couldn't live with personally, but I admire your determination.

Fortunately not an issue I have to contend with but if I did that would be my way round it.

Not buying because of it would massively limit your options (not just Ferrari) as there are a whole bunch of 'too wide for UK single garages' type (brilliant) cars out there... For a moment of inconvenience you'll have all bases covered...

I appreciate your point, but at nearly pensionable age and with a back complaint, my days of pushing cars are behind me. smile

The sales guy from F bought it over to prove it would fit in the garage - never seen such a performance , he squeezed it in extremely slowly - took ages and it literally just went in with less than a mm to spare and then he couldn't get out - quite a performance . Honestly speaking though , if I liked it more than the GT3 I would have amended the door aperture and got one - preferred the Gt3 smile

Your remark regarding MJF is in poor taste-there but for the grace of God etc.
Nothing wrong with the stitching, workmanship on any modern Ferrari is superb.
Shame about your spelling-it's appalling.

Ahhh bless, sorry if a little black humour not to your taste. Not sure an omitted letter, a typo, is the same as poor spelling but nonetheless an interesting comment from someone with your user name!!

Now, if you think the stitching around the ignition at 1:37 in that vid is an example of 'workmanship' then you clearly have rocks in your head - it's pitiful and will no doubt be passed off under the auspices of handcraftmanship, when it should infact be rejected as ste.

Mauro's shoes are the business ... living proof of the maxim "none of the gear but all the idea".

Quick question, how much will a used Speciale be in early to mid 2016 ?
