It looks air cooled and the exhaust is the other side of the suspension compared to the 964 above, so is it mid engined maybe a 914/6?

Yes. Its definitely pre 993 era due to the suspension but could be a race car.

Trailing arms look 964 as do bumper mounts and rear wing so 964 with GT3 style exhaust.

Near enough. It is a RHD Singer which is based on a 964 donor car.
