What would you do with the spare £20K ?
10k really I would say if both cars are £45k.
So I would spend it on nice pads and tyres for the cars :-)

Steve, I think up you'll be fine in any of the above - probably faster on a push bike than I am in a GT3 smile

all these poeple blowing the lot on an RS of some sort presumably don't have kids or any need for practicality!

I would go for something more real world, and I have a kid

black 997.1 turbo, manual - about £45k is what I paid for mine
black Cayenne turbo - best I could buy for £55k

My money would go on early 996 C2 with Hartech lump around £12K if your lucky, then the remainder on a 997.1RS
I have kids and the above is what I bought. You may be over budget by around 10K but if you leave it any longer it might get a lot more expensive.

Somebody should submit a £100k garage to PH as they have featured a Honda one today.

This was my effort:

If anyone submits a Porsche £100k garage, I think you should have 3 or more cars to keep it interesting. Just blowing the load on one car isn't very interesting reading.

So no takers for the £100k Hexagon 3.2C then???!!!!! laughheheheherofl
The 997 Turbo looks great mate have to say.
Cheers Crimp. She shifts a bit too now! Had the full 9e GT2 turbos, intercoolers etc fettling. 0-300 kph similar to GT2 RS in a v.safe and predictable chassis. Chassis could easily handle another few hundred bhp on top of the 600-700bhp she's currently running! smokin

G50 Carrera
928 GT(or late S4/early GTS as GTs are a bit rare)
968CS

The above might be feasible within 100K...

Having owned Porsches for 20 years, I am taking a hiatus at the moment in the form of a Ferrari (430 Scuderia) but I will be back soon with the addition of a G50 of some sort...

928 GT
Boxster Spyder
With the change I'd get a 914 which I'd turn into a wide arch track car with a 300hp scooby turbo lump.

A car for all occasions in those 3.

Thanks. Re thinking about it, I was the same, however once the seed was sown I just couldn't get it out of my head. Now I wish I'd done it much sooner......

Ok, so I have a new plan.

I am going to buy circa 50 x 924's. I will starve the market.

I will then work on the raising the profile of the 'shortage of 924's', and why its time to invest now. Magazines will write about it and the indys will get on the band wagon increasing values further.

Wait until summer 2015. Sell for 3 times what I paid.

Buy a Carrera GT for 300k.

Job jobbed. biggrin

That's not really helping wink...I very nearly did it a couple of years ago despite knowing that my Turbo has been with me for so long it would be really difficult letting it go so I bought a CSL to scratch that raw itch.....I keep coming back to these all the time though. Did you have much drama finding the right car?

No drama really, hardest part was having the will power to hold out waiting for the exactly the right car to come up for sale. Having sold my Noble and therefore having the cash sitting there (along with some more) I was almost tempted by one of the many black ones that were for sale this year but so glad I didn't as Orange was what I always had my heart set on. With only 29 orange ones made they obviously don't come up for sale very often so if you're really serious my advice is to be ready to react when one eventually comes on the market, as realistically priced good cars usually sell very quickly. Maybe even worth doing some homework on here and emailing some owners to see if they might be willing to sell...... I think I was quite fortunate as managed to get mine privately from a tentative thread on P'heads and thus save probably around 10k from dealer prices.

Sound advice, that's pretty much been the way I've bought in the past and I have always preferred buying from a passionate private owner given the choice. Talking of prices, as with most things I've watched them steadily rise with some cars taking a big leap of late, it would be interesting to know what some dealer cars actually sell for but I guess that's the great unknown nowadays. ... I will keep looking and if its meant to be as they say then something will turn up or I'll stubmle across an owner who fancies a a shot at some air cooled turbo fun. In the meantime enjoy your RS and don't be shy with the pictures smile
