Just done a deal on a V8 S Diesel Cayenne (or rather my wife has, I just negotiated!)
Got an amazing end of year deal on an unregistered car. Picking up next week.
Our Current V6 Diesel retained an amazing 84% of it's value as a trade in after just over 2 years which I think is pretty exceptional.

We had a similar experience trading our Cayenne in against the Macan, almost free motoring over 2 years, quite remarkable. Heading back to a Cayenne in the new year and been offered very close to list on the Macan as a swapper.Got an amazing end of year deal on an unregistered car. Picking up next week.

I drove one the other day, and blew the Turbo within 5 minutes on the test drive....which was embarrassing.
Loved the inside....but have real issues with the outside still. The torque and drive are superb. The image and exterior design not so IMO.
I've decided, having had a plethora of fast daily's, that if you are lucky enough to have a 'fun' second car, there is absolutely no point whatsoever in running around in this type of car.
So what's the alternative ?. The RRS ?.
The last model was the epitomy of you property developer (jobbing builders) wet dream. You could pick one up free with your next pair of brown pointy shoes.
I ended up then with a selection of 'point & squirt RS6's that I thought would satisfy my daily driving needs....cost me a fortune and were teutonically anodyne.
I've had an RS4 for 2 years...which is just an A4 with a harder ride and less torque than my lawn mower. I have probably 'booted' that 3 times in 2 years.
I've ended up with a new RRS ...3.0. Comfortable, quick enough, lighter ....and does everything you need a car to do for 95% of the time. I figured, that for the same money, I could live with less 'cayenne pub torque' as you simply never, ever use it in all reality. Plus I can use it for business, without compromising my position as a reasonable human being.
Age must be catching up with me....the new Cayenne is better, but it's still Susan Boyle in a pair of spikes.

True, and I feel I've let myself, my family and our friends down by purchasing one to some degree. It is a subtle spec, without silly wheels and an even sillier private plate. However, choice is limited and this version is both a good drive, sumptuously appointed inside and thrown off the 'geezer mantle' IMO.
The Cayenne remains gopping from every possible angle IMO, but for those who don't care, then it's the better drive.
The defining moment of choice came last weekend, when a local business man of dubious morals, parked his new Cayenne in the disabled bay outside the gym.
Combine this with the fact they are too readily available new, and now with discounts, decision was made.
To those who have one, can't deny that it's a cracking drive, but cracks mirrors too unfortunately.

Whilst to many the Cayenne isnt a looker, I think the new one looks great, and seriously you think this isnt clumsy, over-styled and designed for footballers (wives)?!
