2009 C2S manual - averaged around 27mpg over the last 10,000 miles, mostly mixed a/b roads. Heavyt right foot when traffic allows.

Random questions; do you live on a steep hill and do you leave it idling when its being cleaned?

Interesting how most of the Porsche sports car range seems to gravitate towards a 21mpg avg. regardless of engine size or type.

Sorry missed this.......

No I don't live on a hill and don't leave it idling at all. Milton Keynes is fairly flowing traffic too so it's not like I sit for ages at a standstill either.

What? I see lots of people saying 22-24 for a 997 S, which seems about right to me. I get about 26-28 from a fair mixed tank on my 987.2 S - a lighter and less powerful car but not massively different as regards weight, aero, engine type, etc. I think its actually pretty impressive given that even eco petrol cars barely ever get over 35mpg in similar driving.

24.1 average in my GTS and regularly see low 30's on cruise at 70, I use Momentum 99.

From a 997 GTS PDK, driven briskly, I get significantly better fuel consumption than that. I used to have an E92 M3 which at a pace would give me no more than 18 mpg. The GTS gets me at least 40% more.

Hmm I am 1 month into 997 GTS ownership and am concerned about my mpg. 50:50 motorway and country roads and I am getting 16.5mpg. Thats using the Road Trip app and the odometer readings rather than the onboard which is showing slightly higher.

When OPC handed over the car they advised to use normal fuel no need for super. Thoughts? Run it dry then run a tank of super as per the above? Call it in to OPC and let them deal with it?

TIA

I am a couple of months in to mine (997 GTS)

Economy and (perhaps obviously) range are both poor compared to the 981 Cayman S PDK that I ran before for a couple of years. About 5 - 10 mpg worse in any given scenario. A price well worth paying though...

I would be gutted if I couldn't drive the 158 miles from my house to the PCGB Clubhouse at anything less than 30mpg though and would expect that to be at a decent average speed. I do better than that on a gentle run, mid 20s more locally, as other posters above really.

That's the pain, filling up once per week, PITA. Mustered 20.1 today on the commute.

In my 997 GTS locally I average around 21mpg but on a steady motorway journey (70-85mph) it increases to between 32 and 34mpg which was a pleasant suprise.

Always run on super-unleaded fuel.

I think something is wrong with your car, to be honest. I find the 997 to be pretty consistent in hovering around 20-25mpg across a tank. 16.5 would be the result of driving it pretty hard, and you would surely notice if you were doing that.

If it's a 4 GTS it's probably not far off.

Im suprised. Would have expected better fuel economy than this. My 996 C2 Tip manages 25-26.

On the 997.2 I can always get good MPG on a Euro trip. Never match it here though.
