My previous 993 turbo the day it sold at Malton. Had RS Tuning modified motor of engine dyno outputs 533PS / 729NM, was very fast
That must have been ballistic, I sometimes think my 993 ( X50 430) is plenty quick enough I can't imagine it was a cheap excercise extracting that power consistently from that engine ?

My car started as factory X50 430 motor, I really liked the extra zing towards red line the power kit offered.I can't imagine it was a cheap excercise extracting that power consistently from that engine ?
Was expensive to tune the Banana ...... the engine mods were based on the 520hp RS Tuning / Cargraphic kit plus bespoke engine dyno and other bits to help produce the outputs. A large proportion of the cost was engine overhaul and refurb pre mod work plus Secan intercooler.

I may be biting here but it looks like a 993 turbo lump to me
Yup its a 3.6 with a pair of blowers, factory 430 setup too!Having just looked at Charge's beast I think he's pulling our leg
Sorry chaps, I was not being clever dick, They all came with a engine as standard, and I was dammed if I knew the back end of a 993 tt lump!
That will be some car, something I thought about for a few years, but could not get my hands on a decent 993 lump at the time.
I used to follow JBL930 threads and his 993 tt engine in his 930 with pleasure, and it was another blow to the small knit community when he sadly passed away.
Seems to be a case of live fast, die young!!
Would love to follow the conversion your doing Jevvy ;-)

A tt lump is easy to spot as it has those 2 'charge' pipes splitting down the back of the engine charge said:

I knew JBL fairly well as he was local to me and watched his conversion with envy back in the day, sad times! I wonder where his car is now? My local specialist(Northway) are the same guys that did his conversion and they are planning to do the same with a tt lump they have so I've been chatting to them about various bits and bobs.Seems to be a case of live fast, die young!!

Just spotted this in the classifieds

Air-cooled, with modern conveniences. Collectable, but usable. Lovely 'narrow bodied' N/A, manual, Coupe, and love the C4 chassis on the 993, and sweet colour.

Almost everything in their advert is wrong. More importantly, who colour-matched the front PU? http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/p...
