seriously though, how much fun would that be!

Ladies and gents, since I put up my slightly sarcastic desire to attend this event in a fictional 800cc Matiz, I have watched the numbers grow, to become an exceptionally fine collection of Stuttgart's finest and most rapid machinery. It will be a truly epic event, and I was even thinking of attending "unofficially" in my humble 2.7 986, on the premise that it has GT3-alike wheels so there may be a small connection, even if by the time I did get to the hotel you lot would be starting pudding.

However, something bizarre happened today, I guess just one of those right time, right place, right price, right spec moments, and there in front of me was my dream car, in the right spec of white with red wheels. I am now the proud owner of a GT3RS.

Here it is, parked up on a smooth expanse of the Midland's finest Tarmac. Ignore the modern art sculptures behind, they are a bit like those "Kelpies" giant horses heads but modelled on a domestic kitchen. I hope you agree, she is a beauty, and I'm very much looking forward to being able to join in on this run "properly".



(Joking aside, if you have the real version of this car, get yourself down to Aldi and buy this model...it's 1:16 scale so about a foot long, incredibly detailed down to the rollcage, Porsche badge on the steering wheel, and cross drilled discs and calipers. It's actually radio controlled, the lights light up with an authentic looking HID glow, and the best bit is that it was the princely sum of £8.49!!!)

We have had larger group runs up here, what you find is that the numbers drop when dates and such like are understood - on the run itself we split it down into managable groups - what is sure (a) folks will get lost (b) it will be an interesting traffic jam on some of the roads !!

I've never been on one of these trips. A tasteful cannonball run if you like and in my back yard too !! I would worry about adding points onto my (clean) license though. btw, did anyone else think that was a real rs ?
