253mph is crazy fast.
Imran if you look at straight liners dates they often have world records days at Elvington with a measured mile in either direction which are cool.
Ive seen jack frost do 250mph on a turbo hyabusa bike there on one of the days :-)

No I don't quote BHP, but our 9eXX 997 version exceeded the torque limit in the control unit that is set at 1500nm tq (just over 1100lbs of tq). My gearbox place in Germany was shocked and didn't believe me - they are now going to strengthen the box to take 2000nm tq. This was at 1.74 bar which is close to it's peak power at around 2.1bar. That car ran 201gps in 0.72 mile and ran 216gps in 0.9 mile recently (in the wet!).

We don't do dynos, but actually we did a 3.8L 996 Turbo engine with GT3 top end running 3076 turbos that made 920hp at 1.6 bar - it was the highest recorded on this hub dyno. The 9eXX set up has 45% more flow compared to this car.

Certainly over 1000hp but whether it is 1300, 1400 or more really doesn't matter.

Let's just say I don't think we will be doing that again. It was 408.2kph on vbox, so close to 254mph true speed. Car is geared to 275/280mph.

My tolerance to trying that again is currently zero. Just too much risk frankly.

I think we will try later in the year to set a 240+ Vmax record - it will be our last attempt at such speeds.

What's the score with this new intake system in development Ken? smile Would it improve the 996 9e30 package? Currently on std intake pipework.

Yes, but when it is proven I will release more information. We already have a version of it on many cars, but it is a change to that version that released on one single car a lot of power.

Hurry up & take my money! drivingwink ..... Took my car out Tuesday night for a run, not driven it for a few weeks. Every time I drive it I'm still blown away just how damn good it is, I think I'm going to have to move to Germany though frowncopjudge

I'd agree, as a one off maybe to see how it does but regular 250mph attempts can't be good for a long life :-)

A new 9e 28 is born. Owner went for forged internals as his engine was shot so its now future proofed and good for 1000bhp when he's ready to up the power lucky sod.

Brand spanking new GT2 RS hybrids with 66mm billet wheels and motorsport bearings

Forged internals i.e. conrods, rods, pistons and reinforced head with longer head studs.

and to finish her off a 9e/Capristo exhaust

And more 9e 28s in the pipe line!

Early 5.30am start for 9e who are taking the 9e 28 and 9e XX to VMAX today! Hopefully the surface is better at Raf Woodridge than at Brunters so we can get some proper performance stats for both cars.

She was quickest of the 9e cars apart from 9e XX yesterday at RAF Woodridge at 193mph. Thanks to Ken and Adam for running her.

100-300kph 25 secs which considering the surface wasn't a bad effort and by way of comparison the best 100-300kph so far (in wet) at Brunters of 24 secs so cars running very well and IATS starting at 40c never went above 50c all the way to approaching 200mph.

Few pics highlights half the track was covered in grass. This meant everyone was queuing to run on the side that wasn't covered in grass lol.

9e XX "only" ran 219mph as gearbox software was playing up. ES Motors and Amir took the day with 226mph top speed in their ES 1200. Congrats!

Check out the amazing 993 GT2 - she ran a best of 168mph!

Thought this may be of interest. Dyno of 9e 28 in non sport mode. In sport mode it has about 12% more power but there was wheel hop (maybe something to do with larger size cup 2s) above 4000rpm on the dyno so didn't have a second run in sport mode.

Some other interesting stats. In sport mode 9e 28 is at 650-660 PS evil

Here's a vid of VMAX a last Sat. Camera car will be at TV this weekend. Ran neck and neck with Huracan and beat Macca MP4 !2 and 650 S over multiple runs. Was wet so Macca drivers were at disadvantage

Brunters which is very well organised but they charge crazy amount for VMAX. Its booking fee is £495 but you do race bone fide supercars there. TV will be a bit more down to earth. Lots of modded cars etc and only £125. Be my first TV.

yikes only 619ps in non sport mode - maybe you should have gone elsewhere and got 630ps from just a tune and exhaust laugh
