Being a car journo is an impossible job. Always has been.
You will either come across as a geek or an idiot, much like the car guy in your local pub.

I cant watch Jethro at all, no, just wrong for the screen, maybe his words are alright on paper.

Top gear is nothing to do with journalism so we can forget that crew quickly.

Any USA review is just too cringey for us Brits and although I kind of get "The Getawayer" I don't think I could go through the experience that often.

For me I want Tiff Needell, Chris Harris and that guy from Autocar who seems to get a lot of stick, Sutcliffe.

Oh absolutely. We are the tedious car intelligenisia and all the dreariness that entails. To win the ratings war you need content that starts at the lowest common denominator and has enough visual pyro to keep a goldfish happy.

There is a middle ground though surely ... where perhaps something less than 80% of the shot count involves oversteer in some way or other ?

Bring back Noel Edmunds and Angela Rippon. At least you got a star wars haircut, a public school accent and a decent pair of legs. biggrin
