The £150,000 GT3 has arrived as predicted
Discussion
I'm just utterly relieved- after many months of people moaning about Porsche because the early fires
had hindered their GT3 production- relentless pages of moaning about Porsche's actions (or lack of).......
we can at least have a happy ending- an instant profit on the GT3.....it's nice that things turned out sweet.
Never lose faith in Porsche.....they are the Real Madrid of the car world.

Just for fun then - hypothetically pretend you had to sell your GT3 for £K 150 and chuck in £K 15 to get to £K 165 ( to cover the dealer margin - I wish) would you invest in , to get the best long term financial return :
Another 991 GT3
A 997.2 RS
An air cooled car , say a 964 3.6 Turbo or similar

As a 991 GT3 owner and driver who is in the for the long term (7.5k miles already), I'm getting hacked off with limited supplies and the resultant premiums. We seem to be moving in a direction with interesting sports cars that you have to be a very good customer/frequent buyer/frequent speculator etc to get one. When the "professionals" see these cars as guaranteed "free money", I'm not sure an infrequent buying long term customer like me would get on the list next time I want to make a purchase. Quite concerning.
Some guys on german forums suggest that there are owners that are on their third GT3 engine now.
They got a second engine replacement as directed by Zuffenhausen, complete with a nondisclosure agreement. Fun times if true. Can anybody confirm/deny this?

First time I hear about this. And how the hell would they make you sign a non disclosure for swapping an engine which is faulty under warranty :-)They got a second engine replacement as directed by Zuffenhausen, complete with a nondisclosure agreement. Sound like Internet BS to me

Saw quite a few in germany with problems including 4 Uk cars that went over for the weekend to the ring and only one drove home !Two others on ramps with oil chucked out everywhere and waiting for porsche to collect them.Could have been simple problems but the garage did not seem to think so.All of them had had new engines and run them in.They got a second engine replacement as directed by Zuffenhausen, complete with a nondisclosure agreement. and these cars values ARE very mileage sensitive.
What do you base that statement on?The £17k price difference between the 2 OPC cars is partly down to spec and provenance perhaps but largely down to the 10k mileage difference.

All 911s are hugely mileage sensitive.....and always have been....especially GT models under 5 years old and over £100k as is any vehicle in this price category e.g. Romans recently sold an 11 plate 458 with 17k miles c £145k which they stocked for ages simply due to the 'relatively' high mileage for this type of vehicle.
I have ran both 911's and F cars for years and the last thing 911 owners need is Ferrari mileage sensitivity or clocked to death cars as is the Maranello way.I put 12K miles on a Sport Classic in 12 months and sold it for more than i paid for it with del miles on so when the cars rare and desirable its not so critical with Porsche because we all know they are good for it..
A lower mileage car will always sell first and for more money but 911's sell well at all mileages unlike F cars.
I think the OPC car at 125K is priced very fairly in todays market place.

So buy it keep it a year and don't use it, then sell it for £165k as 6k pa will then be very low miles. Lol.
this car is priced well, £150k cars with 6k miles are not.
I agree, if I were a buyer, I'd see £25k as a big premium to pay for 7,000 less milesthis car is priced well, £150k cars with 6k miles are not.
I have a really well specced club sport with <500 miles. Based on the mileage, I'm going to hold out for £200k ;-)
I think it's definitely the case though that Porsche got the list price "wrong" for the RHD 991 GT3 market, compared to what else was available for the money.
Thinking about going for a drive, what are the Cup tyres like on the snow, I wonder?
