May I ask if you have driven a 991 GT3?
Yes - and it was bloody good. Sadly by the time I drove it I had already turned down a slot from my OPC (it was during the radio silence phase of the engine debacle). Another of my great decisions…..

Keep a hold of it for longer, they'll be 200K soon. The GT4 will be a flop and everyone who sells their 997 to get one will be after the 991 with PDK. wink

Join the club

When I bought my 9934s I rejected a 10,000 mile 993RS with 10,000 miles at £50,000
An 18,000 mile 911 Carrera 1988 at £25,000 . Thought is was too much 3 years ago - now what is it worth
A 23,000 one owner 928GTS at £22000. Tempted but bottled it

How much did my Scottishness cost this time - £200,000??

It's only +VAT if you're buying from outside the EU.

I think you got that the wrong way around.

VAT free for export out of EU.

VAT to be paid if inside EU.

No thegoose is right. if you import a car from the EU there is no VAT to be paid unless you paid the ex VAT price in country of origin.

Now we are all getting mixed up.

This started with a poster saying buy a 458 Speciale for 165K which I then pointed out would be plus VAT.

Some UK cars are VAT qualifying which means you can buy VAT free for export out of EU or pay VAT for use in UK. If you're a private buyer its simply payable, if a company buyer then there are angles to research.

If a buyer from outside EU wants a VAT Q car in UK the VAT element is reclaimable and ultimately they will buy the car no vat.

When they Import into their non EU country local taxes may apply.

If you buy a VAT paid car in the EU then yes the VAT has already been paid and no further VAT is paid when it arrives in UK.

No I believe he said, a LHD speciale costs about ~€235k which is say about £175k. That is VAT inclusive prices per a very quick look on mobile.de

mmh caused some confusion here - i looked at the cheapest speciale at about 220k euros (there have been cheaper ones in the last month) and divided that by about 1.338 think, which gave roughly 165k sterling - vat was not a consideration as it is included in the german sales price
so in summary 165k buys you a ready to go speciale

Yep, ive been scanning mobile.de as well. VAT is paid and therefore no VAT due. Cheap as chips compared to the 250k you need over here. Mostly very low miles as well so barely used.

Not in the market just yet for one but if and when I am, as much as I favour RHD, its going to be pretty difficult emotionally and mentally to stump up the extra for a RHD version. There seem to be so many for sale on trhe continent. What's all that about ?

It's like the 991 gt3 in europe. Plenty of them about. UK allocations for both cars are either really low or... the cars are simply less hyped up outside of the UK. Or both.

Tanned middle aged men realised they could'nt drive a near 600BHP monster with go-kart handling without endangering life (or their tinnitus) and so went back to their 458 Spyders.

Seriously though, its not a limited run and so I have images of the Ferrari factory popping these out 24/7 until the 458T arrives.

Its all good news to us and to Porsches detriment because as soon as I can afford a LHD Speciale I am jumping ship. I am not saving up for a GT3 at this stage unless the price starts to reverse.

Thanks, so the 2013 GT 3 with 12K miles @ £125K is a good deal then?

With regards to 991 gt3 as of 3 rd qtr 2014 some 195 cars had been registered as new by the dvla with more to come after that if still being built/registered 4th qtr 2014,so not exactly rare is it!
