- suffice it to say after checking the Competition when time to replace there was nothing else to touch it for the Driving Dynamic and Price (We Run RR's at our Company as well - No thanks!)so I thought let's have another go - Got the New One (Facelift) in Nov 14 and 4 K miles in no problems so far......!

Is that RRS's you run at your place, or FFRR's? Always wondered if the new RRS was as good as the magazines make out.

Also, presume the facelift Cayenne is a Diesel - is there much difference performance and ride wise to the last one. How does it compare?

Hi all

Seems like I may be lucky with this leak.

My wife's just taken a call from the local garage.
She said they said it was just a washer that's gone.

I assume the washer from the drain plug?

So they're going to replace it.

I presume a non OPC garage is OK to do this straightforward repair?

Thanks for all your help...am seriously thinking about paying the extra for the Porsche check and warranty now though!
Great news Jeff. Once you mentioned the *amount* of oil it was losing i was thinking you might be lucky that it's a simple fix smile

Hi

In answer to the other posters question my leak was spotted/dealt with at 50K something Miles !

The Car had 70+K on it when sold I sold it on and had no troubles once fixed!

I won't go into the other issues I had with it as the last time I did I became target No.1 for all the clever so and so's on here - suffice it to say after checking the Competition when time to replace there was nothing else to touch it for the Driving Dynamic and Price (We Run RR's at our Company as well - No thanks!)so I thought let's have another go - Got the New One (Facelift) in Nov 14 and 4 K miles in no problems so far......!

How many miles did yours go at MF? Mine was just under 60k. It's a great car though and i think i would have another (maybe V8d next?), just highlights the importance of warranty nowadays - so many problems are becoming 'engine out' jobs!

ironically i didn't go for a Rangerover because of the reliability issues...

Don't forget it's an Audi engine. I wonder how many of their cars are suffering the same problem.
I've got a 4 year old 3.0d Audi Q7 (34k on the clock) which in December had to go for 25 workshop hours of engine out due to an oil-leak between the gearbox and engine - then was back in the workshop January due to a further oil-leak from the top of the engine, not sure on the timings on that fix.

Tech said it was an issue with a sealant they are using instead of gaskets which is breaking down, certainly wasn't surprised by it and gave the impression on being experienced in the fix.

Fortunately covered by extended factory warranty but interesting to see it is happening on the Cayennes as well.
