I'm not actually sure as I haven't shipped it over yet, as build starts late July earliest. (I paid deposit last year, and have place on the list with a build number and name designation.). Will update on progress as it happens...
I know that Singer invoice properly and in full, but not sure who's responsible for telling customs on the way back. Personally, I'm just going to bite the bullet and make sure all is done properly, but it's a big extra cost that has to be factored in.
They have a resource in UK now, who handles sourcing, shipping and after sales/servicing.
If you need any more, let me know, or just get in touch with Rob direct - very helpful and will happily chat through any questions at length!

so how can I nick one of the gallery pictures for a wallpaper. right click save as doesn't seem to work?
lovely car!!
Go to the gallery of the country/car you want to download an image of. Beneath the country you'll see "Download high-res photos". Click on it and it'll download a zip file containing all the images in that gallery. Once downloaded click on the file and you'll be given a list of the images. Right click on the image you want and you'll be able to save it as your desktop.lovely car!!
All the cars in the gallery seem to look very similar. All have the same gear stick and gaiter, same filler cap in the middle of the bonnet, same style wheels, same rear wing, same seats, same steering wheel... I thought they would be more individual than they appear to be, beyond mere colour variations.

As i understand it the items you've mentioned are the generic parts Singer use to build their cars, there are differing trim options, dampers, engine specs, brakes, seats, dash clocks etc.Slippydiff said:

Nope, a tapered countersink, as opposed to a parallel countersink using a cheese head screw.
So why do you think they are tapered? None of the M6 bolts I can find for momo bosses are tapered in the tapered bolt sense. They are tapered being the american term for countersunk.Bert

Ah, you thought I meant the thread was tapered ? I meant the the countersink was tapered as opposed to parallel.

And back on topic. I thought Singers were made as a "standard" spec plus options plus some bespoke. If that is right what is the rough "proportion" of standard to options to bespoke.

Would love one, but not sure about the rear "head" rests! Also looks over wheeled at the back, and not sure about the trademark rev counter (that goes to 11)...but hopefully they could accomodate my tastes ;-)http://singervehicledesign.com/gallery/the-machine...
In the very unlikely event of being able to order a Singer, or even getting a restoration done here in the UK, I don't think I'd put a thread about it on here with pictures.
Each to his own, etc, but having all of the work and your choices second guessed and criticised might take some of the shine off what should be a pleasure.
